New guy here! Here's a custom Zoid that has history on the Zoids RPG that I am on over with ezBoard. It's actually owned by one of my girlfriend's characters, I am only attempting to make a picture of it. x.x Sorta based on a Red Horn, I guess... kinda. Anyways, it's not nearly done, still need to line more, ink, shade, and color layer, but I am scanning every step of the way and doing digital cleaning, and may as well do some work on it in Photoshop. Anyways... I'll put up the small pic, and link the larger full size version. Warning though... it is large. x.x www.macrossrpg.com/~cm/MatrionSniper_3DPerspective_Sketch1(Clean2).jpgAny comments or critique is welcome, and appreciated. (edit) Hyperlinking isn't wanting to work on the second URL, so if you want to cut and paste it to your browser, it should work then.

That looks good, but you should make the nose blade facing foreward and put a blade on its tail.

I think it looks very authentic and menacing. The cannon looks just big enough to be a threat without being comical in comparison to the body.
I'd like to make two suggestions: classic Zoids usually have plug caps large enough to draw attention to the joints. Blox Zoids have changed this, but your style strikes me as more of a classic Zoid design. I'd try to either enlarge the caps or give them more of a 3D feel.
I also think you can draw more attention the guns near its neck. I didn't notice them until I looked at the larger image.

Better than i can do! It's cool, the blade facing frontward would be nice. and to me the tail could use some more...i don't know.. it looks funny to me, too.... "together" Well, much better than i can do, i like it. But the tail looks funny too me...can't put my finger on it tho...

Thanks. ^_^
*looks at the caps and mutters* They could be larger, yeah... Can't change the original now. It's mostly all inked. x.x But I can work on the depth in shading, and coloring phases. I can also change them and make them larger in the digital images as well.
And do you mean a "stability blade" on the tail, like a Red Horn has? It's pretty clean and "light" in design, being largely based on the Genosaurer's in that area. This is supposed to be a reasonably high-speed unit, and the tail is lifted horizontally when running, and placed on the ground for stability in Sniper operations. But I could likely heavy the end up some with embellishments of some sort.
So far as the direction of the head blade, and "strike blades" on the tail (if that is what was meant), I am working off of a set design, so I am limited in what it is equiped with to the degree of what the Zoid has. It's not really a creation of a Zoid that I am making, simply an illustration of one (MK-497 Matrion Sniper) "in existance".
There is another version that I had intended on doing as well, a more straight assault version called originally enough the "MK-452 Matrion Combat"... but I am not trusted enough by my girlfriend to have the technical information on that one released yet. ~_^ Maybe soonish I'll have obtained the requisite security clearance.
