Can someone tell me what the conflict is between the Helic Republic, the Guylos Empire and the Neo-Zenevas Empire. I, residing in Canada, don't here a lot about it.

The basic conflict is that both Guylos and Neo Zenevas want to rule all of Zi. As far as I know, Helic has only responded to attacks, never invading unless it has already been invaded. It could also be considered a war for territory.
Helic was the first government on Zi, until they cast out their Army's commander, Zenevas, who founded his own empire and invaded. Helic eventually beat Zenevas and exiled its ruler to the northern continent Nyx, where he discovered the Guylos Empire and rebuilt his own forces. Helic then defeated a joint invasion by Guylos and Zenevas. The Zenevas forces were broken and absorbed into the Guylos army.
After the great cataclysm on Zi, Prozen ruled while Emperor Rudolf was still under-aged to control Guylos. He started the war all over again. Somewhere along the line, the faction known as Neo Zenevas made a play for power and crippled the Guylos Empire (probably from within), then renewed its assault on the Helic Republic. Helic and the remains of Guylos retreated off the central continent and settled on the eastern continent, where they began an offensive to retake the land they lost. That's as far as the story goes.
I figure once Neo Zenevas is beaten, Helic and Guylos will go at it again. People on Zi seem to love to fight as much as Earthlings.
This is all based off the battle story as outlined in the model kits and manga. Zenevas never appears in the anime (although it would be a good way to stir up the old story line).

If you think that's complicated, be glad I didn't summarize the full story. There's a lot about relations between Helic and Zenevas that I didn't even touch on, not to mention how humans mucked everything up.

Another thing that makes it more complicated is that not all the information is available, only some bits and pieces have been translated. It would be cool if they would come out with something like a BattleTech Field Manual for the factions... Wonder if the Zoids Core Box has something like that.....

I wouldn't say that the info is unavailable. A lot of what I summarized comes from the timeline in the second volume of the Zoids manga. The rest I learned here on this board.
Although it would be cool if someone wrote a Zoids RPG book. Blow Battletech out of the water.

Complexity goooood.
Complexity also make for plotbunnies. Plotbunnies eeeeevil.
I'll stop writing like that now.
I just want all the information possible in a book or books. With large text. And furigana.

there is alot more to the battle story but Leo summed it up nicely. Good job Leo.
Humans arrived on Zi in a space ship know as the Globally III. This is why there are normal looking people and the ancient zoidians.
I leard the battle story through the mangas and an issue of Animerica that has the whole story in it.

Humans arrived on Zi in a space ship know as the Globally III. That's the first time I've ever heard the ships name. Where did you find that little jewel?

I remember this being addressed somewhere before, so I dug this up: For the record, a plotbunny is a little bit of a plot that you think of and then write down, correct? This was from a different thread, to which Tilly responded: Something like that. The crossover ones are the worst...*tries to silence them* So there you have it. Also note that Tilly tends to refer to Berserk Fuhrer as 'Fluffy Bunny'. I forget for what reason exactly, but it was along the lines of the latter half of BF's name being too... 'evil'. Yeah. And I love Battletech. Especially the novels-- so many factions and clans... I keep getting lost. And the games! Die you stupid Elemental! *squish* If Zoids have that kind of complexity, it would be fun. It actually does, but it's not that fleshed out, sadly.

That's the first time I've ever heard the ships name. Where did you find that little jewel? I found it in Animerica-Vol 10,no 4- April 2002. It has Bit, the Liger Zero and a Zaber Fang on the front and says Zoids in the logo. ebay may have it or you can order a back issue. it has a very nice Zoids review, 7 pages of info.
