Hi fellow zoiders,
I've had a custom zoids project I've worked on many years ago and then put aside. After a moving of all my zoids to thier own room I got to sort it all out. MIB, built, in need of repair and this project jumped out at me. I have the head almost complete but my opening eye canopies still need finished. Main body also partially done but changing over a medium size wind up motor to do the action of a small motor has stalled.Larger motor required due to extra weight. Abdomen complete with firing mechanism is also at a halfway point. Just a matter of tieing it all together. I finally bought several of my dream machines, 3d printers, and am now fairly well versed in operation of both resin and extruder types. However even with them I still need ever more equipment, 3d scanner, and softwares. I would love to share what I've done thus far and where I'm heading with it, but I'm unsure how to add pics here. I do intend to finally finish this project. And the other things planned for the printers is fixing zoids issues I.E. Gungyrados' wings, Gojulas' tail by making a better version of the couplings on both to be more sturdy. OMG! All this typing and never once have I said it. My custom build is a Wasp. A paper wasp not a mud dauber although that would be cool, maybe next one. Anyway if and when I do manage to show pics I'd love the fellow darths suggestions. For now I will try to focus on what I've planned on and get back to finishing this.

If you want to upload images here, the way I've done it is by first uploading my photos to Imgur, then right-clicking them there and selecting "copy image address". After that, in the toolbar above your new post/comment typing box, there is an option that says "Insert Image" (7th button from the rightmost), and you need to paste the link you copied into the resulting dialogue box. Then, when you click the "Insert Image" button on said box, it will add in the image wherever your cursor was prior to clicking the "Insert Image" prompt. I suggest adding blank lines below wherever you want to paste the image so that you can easily continue typing below the image after you've inserted it. A bit of a clunky process, but that's how I've been doing it

When I post this I guess we'll see.

Well I attempted posting a pic on another thread. Sadly I failed. Still not sure how it goes. I think it is because of mobile verus desktop where translation fubars me. But anyway. Thus far I uploaded the pics to imgur. I have them there. I guess sharing a link is about all I can do for now. You will see 19 pics of the wasp and where I'm headed with it's design. I will likely never be in the class of some of you talented folks and still have a long way to go to finish it, but now you can at least see. Since they were uploaded there in that fashion they are out of order. 1st pics are of how this is going to all lay out. Others are of each piece. Final pic is of where one of my many issues is. Making the cockpit windows. The original head eye piece is way too thick to use. I am trying molding my own. Shrinky dinks plastic melted in the oven then wrapped around the eye piece to shape a sock to protect my hand from heat and to texture the window. I have several sheets of plastic to attempt this with. Barring that I have these coke plastic bottle sides I will use the bubbly sides to attempt molding translucent uv cure resin into a window. Unsure how that will go. Anyway. Here is a link to my pics, I think, let me know any comments, suggestions or ideas to move the project along. No hurry! Already stalled it for a long long time. Grrrrr! This is impossible to add photos to. imgur.com/GxmVp3p That will have to do for now.

That sounds like some great progress, and I'm really impressed that you would go through such creative lengths to try to make custom cockpit windshield parts! Unfortunately though even the Imgur link you shared doesn't seem to work, what I got was the following message: "This imgur.com page can’t be found. No webpage was found for the web address: imgur.com/GxmVp3p%C2%A0" I'm sorry that you've had such difficulties with uploading images, as well. I haven't tried using mobile with this site, it's a pretty old-fashioned platform so I've only ever used it on web with a PC. That whole process I explained with Imgur links and whatnot is only from my experience doing it on the web version, sorry

Well partially it is the size limiting of pic for starters that is the issue. I am unsure why the links themselves are failing. Being mobile I put this boards on desktop by checking a box. That gives me the options that were not there before. While attempting said options it tells me my file is too large. Why, pray tell in this day and age, is the board still somewhat antiquated. With the megapixels of cameras on phones equal to high end slr cameras why limit. Or if still needing size reduction of file at least give an option to do that automatically. I do so want to share what I have going on. Yet having great difficulty in doing that.

Success! Finally! 1st 2 pics are of the head. In the second pic you can see, somewhat the hand built seats inside. I will be adding hinges between the eyes towards the top kind of gull winging the cockpit windows. I will also be adding antenna, weapons or long range sensor arrays. Completing it then on to the other issues. Wierd! Somehow the camera interpreted the seats inside upside down. In the 1st pic they are correct but too blurry to see. In the second somehow they flipped.

I stand corrected. The seats are not upside-down that brighter one is actually the far seat making it appear upside down. Anyway here is a shot of all the pieces together approximately where and how they will go. The legs will be redesigned but there for show.

Here is that window piece. The camera facing side you can see the texturing I referred to in earlier post. I will be trimming excess and gluing a normal cockpit hinge into it. I have a couple of sheets of black shrinky dink that this process will be done again with as I want dark or tinted windows.

This is the abdomen piece. There are 3 pieces here. 2 outer clam shells and an inner stinger weapon that can fire that missle. The circular areas on them I plan on putting that zoids symbol, the name escapes me, the circle with a lightning bolt thru it. The bottom clam shell has a hole. The plan is when releasing the abdomens catch it will swing under the zoid and a protuding stud will go thru the hole tripping the missle's launch. Or at least that is the plan. I have 2 optional hinges for that action. In the whole array pic you can see the yellow one that may be the one used.

These are the wings. A blatantly obvious modification of a familiar zoids' wings. Undecided whether or not that modification is done or not. I'm thinking on adding to the bottom end a more rounded look. What you can't see which will also need modification are the smaller wing set as there are actually 4 wings. That second set are swing out on body yet to be posted. I plan to use the rest of the wing assembly parts for the action from both by motor and by hand. This will likely need modified. Especially since the motor swap out that slowed this build.

I like seeing the rough outline here, you've clearly put a lot of thought and effort into the design already! Looking forward to the completion of the head/cockpit area, best of luck with the rest of it too!
