I use both spray paint and hand painting. I can't afford an Airbrush. same here

ok, normal spray paint, is paint, in a spray can, an airbrush is a pen-hsaped "brush", that has a cup of paint attacked to it, and a hose that brings in compressed air to spray the paint..

perssonaly i hand paint all mine, i rarely use any testors or model master paints, i usualy use craft paints with mine, makes for better color mix etc etc, plus with craft paints they have this really fun stuff called heavenly hues, yes i know it sounds stupid, but i swear by this stuff, if you want your zoid to look like its been through a few thousand fights etc, try it. good for detail work as well

I used to hand paint everything, until I got the airbrush. I think it is much neater, the paint dries faster and covers smoothly. Still do details by hand but large customs go alot faster. Not a big fan of mixing though. Still trying to get the hang of it.
