I use both spray paint and hand painting. I can't afford an Airbrush.

I used to air brush but the brush broke so I have to hand paint until I get a new one.

Can someone explain airbrushin plz? Always handpainted and spared a lil. it's a pen-shaped thing, that has a small cup attached to with with paint, and the paint is sprayed by compressed air coming from a hose that connects to a can of compressed air.

My Wal-Mart has some that are $40. Also, airbrushing allow for paint mixing, and small area coverage, and a whole buttload of other cool stuff. That, and that's ALWAYS what the modelers in FSM use, and I go by what they do, for the most part.

I use both. Airbrushes are great for detail work, shading, masked areas etc. They are just a lot neater. Cans do have some advantages. I love Model Master flat spary paint as it is slightly textured. It gives the impression of a cast texture, like a tank might have. I use it for base coats all the time.
