I know I'm jumping a bit ahead of myself here, since I've never made a custom, but:
1.) I know weathering is a way of making a model look like it's been used in actual terrain; are there any sites that discuss this in length? 2.) Has anyone tried weathering? What do you use? Ie. GundamMarkers (the weathering markers), paints, such and such? 3.) And not related to weathering-- where do you get faux grass?
Thanks to anyone for answering!
EDIT: I really have to get used to board tags...

Can't go wrong with the ARC, I suppose. But I'm looking for more personal insights into weathering, though I know most Zoiders like to keep their models pristine instead of battle-weary. But the instances where I've seen the effect being used can make a model look really realistic, even if it's a 4 storey tall robot animal. So-- any personal experiences, anyone?

Pristine my right front leg! I haven't tried anything yet, but chalk pastels do good. Get FineScale modeler if you can find it, it's a good resource.

i did it on my first custom. i used a drybrush with rust color paint. it looks pretty good. I would post pics but my digi cam broke and I have to get a new one. So if any body just happens to have an extra working digi cam lying aroud I would gladly buy it from them.
