im currently workin on a Custom for the competition, but i was wondering if we could have a sticky thread dedicated to none competition customs, say like you post Just the picture and a little info on the custom in just this singular thread, instead of having to search threw the whole forum. just a suggestion also a question aswell when customizing your zoid do you just paint it off the wack or take it tooo pieces and then paint individual pieces, i start by doing individuals and then half way add what i want on to the custom

If you take it apart it could make the job easier. You wouldnt acidently paint anything you dont want to.

For the sticky thread, it's a good idea but it wouldn't work, mainly because people would want to discuss/ask questions about the custom and if he had everyone posting their pictures on the same thread it would make it pretty confusing to try and discuss.
As for customs, what I do is build the Zoids first and sand everything down. Then I decide how I want to customize it and I do most of the customizing before I paint it. -Phenotype

what"s the purpose of sanding the zoid before painting it? Sanding the excess plastic thats from the part tree things. I forget what they are called lol. But the point in sanding it down is so it won't interfere with new weapons and stuff (please correct me if I am wrong)

Better grip for the paint, or evening out spots, I would guess.

Better grip for the paint, or evening out spots, I would guess. Exactly. I don't sand the entire thing, just even out the spots where I clipped the plastic from the sprue. -Phenotype
