I recently completed my second Gojulas model. I repurchased a Gojulas due to the fact that my previous one could not turn his head to the right, and I was unable to find the source of the problem. What makes it most frustrating is the fact that my second Gojulas suffers the exact same problem, yet worse-- his head won't turn at all. All parts are meticulously shaven, and I am pretty sure the batteries are new. When the top portion of the head is removed, his lower jaw will turn, but when the upper jaw is replaced, it won't turn at all. Does anyone have a suggestion (my head is about to explode with frustration, argh...) Please do not suggest that I tamper with the motor, because I am kinda mechanically un-inclined.

If I may inquire, where did you get it? I've been wanting to get another to go along with that OJR/OER Goj I found at the OH State fair, and so I could assemble the old one too.

Thanks, but yes, I am pretty sure everything is right. I have scoured over the instruction manuel countless times for steps I may have missed, and have reassembled him at least three times as well. Besides, everything but the head seems to work fine. I am kind of concerned that it may have to do with the motor, since the head seems to work, only the black piece inside the motor towards the neck of the Gojulas may not be powerful enough to sustain the weight of the head and thus cannot turn it. After all, it turns when the other half of the head is removed, but when replaced, the head only makes half-hearted attempts at turning. It was a similiar situation with my previous Gojulas, except the head could turn in one direction.
Edit: Both Gojulases are NJR models ordered from wallofffame.net.

Did you try opening the motor up and readjusting the gears? Although that's not really reccomended unless you know what you're doing...

Heh, I wish I could, but I would very most likely make it worse... *has no experience with that sort of thing*

Hasbro makes the Gojulas Giga, not the Gojulas.

My Gojulas Mariner occasionally has the same problem. I personally feel its a minor design flaw, but I've no other non-Giga Gojulas to compare it to.

I have never had one, but maybe its being stopped by a adjacent part....like hitting a part around it, then stopping.. Maybe you should try taking the arms and stuff around its head off, then see if the head moves, if so, then....... well, you found ur problem, but you have to find a cure.... my poor little brain has worked hard enuf! ;D ;D If all else fails, throw it against a wall, then rebuild it, and wall-ah! you have a peice of JUNK! JK! ;D ;D -Raven Raptor

Alright, I just took apart my first Gojulas's motor to discover that the inside was coated with grime. I cleaned it, tried to put it back together, (Three hours.... Ugh.) and restored it into my older Gojulas. It was the same as before. I might not have put the motor back together perfectly, as it was making slight grinding sounds, however otherwise it still worked as quickly. But when I restored it to my Gojulas, as stated it was the same as before, clean or not. Well, if cleaning the motor did nothing... What will?
P.S.: Things I have gained from this venture: -I now know how a Gojulas motor works. -I also can now reassemble a Gojulas in under five minutes without glancing at the instructions. Gah.
Otherwise, thanks guys for trying to help...
Edit: I just took RavenRaptor's advice and removed things to see what effect they had on Goj. I was right-- it was the metal head weight that was dragging down the head. Of course, now to find something lighter that will fit into the head, and thus allow the head to swivel, and yet still balance the head and allow it to retain it's position, rather than slumping over....
