Kotobukiya will be releasing a reissue of the 041 EZ-036 Death Stinger in May. Was the Death Stinger purple in the battle story?

It was the normal colors, but they released the normal Death Stinger and the Hiltz at the same time, so chose to differentiate the colors beyond just the chrome.

The original Tomy Death Stinger was blue and red.

Yeah, the old moto was blue/red. If they'd made both HMMs the same color it might have made it hard to sell both at the same time, since Hiltz would've been "This but with extra chrome bits and exclusive parts!"
Maybe one day we can get a Marking Plus Ver. with proper colors. Could be a nice way to meet in the middle
