Okay. I lucked into finding one of the reissue Orudios at a price I was willing to pay. Got it in, built it up, but I'm wondering... what's the deal with the chrome on this pretty pony? Box art and photos I've seen suggest it should have gold chrome, but this one's got silver. I don't know a whole lot about OJR releases and never really looked into this particular era of releases much, or the magazine reissue line for that matter. I know a lot of Transmetals-era Transformers had variations in chrome color (like Transmetal Megatron turning up pink rather than the intended purple, sometimes), but was there something similar going on here?

Silver chrome? Interesting. I only have the technozoids release and the zoids graphic release. My zoids graphic release isn't even opened so I don't know what color the lances and other chromed pieces are in. But now you have me curious to open it and see. Zoids wiki says there isn't a noticable difference between it and the ojr one. What is also possible is that the gold color is a coating of candy yellow paint and if washed removes rather easily. That is a fair warning to anyone who has mechdios chromed versions in colors. I am very nervous about cleaning any of mine! I dust them with a makeup brush but can't rid them of the thin layer because of this fear. Heck I even have some models the chormes are wearing thin on zoids2 versions and the black coating they chrome onto is showing in spots. So actually all chrome on all my zoids makes me nervous! But I'm sort of OT(off topic) a bit sorry!

I'd have to check again, which I can't right now, but I want to say it ended up being a sort of desaturated gold closer to silver..

Yes, the reissue Orudios has a chrome gold that is so light, it looks much more like a silver than gold.
But, even the OJR or Techno Zoids Evil Pegasus, their chrome gold are lighter than the chrome gold on many of the other toys too.

Yeah I would say my Evil Pegasus back in the day had definitely GOLD gold, golder than reissue Orudios, but not the intense gold of, say, Green Ranger's aegis

Hearing that the gold is really light comes as a surprise since it always looks pretty gold in pictures, and especially so on the box art. But given my surroundings are enough to turn the silver chrome on this one pretty yellow brings those into question.
I've also done some reading that suggests some of the color on older zoids chrome is really thin and wipes off fairly easily?
