That looks awesome. Love the new colors as well, I'll probably get the full set and not just the cannons, if they do the same thing as with the Scissors unit.

Are the gold cannons a promotional thing?

I really love how they are creating all of these different colorations and weapons configurations. "How can we take a current design, and reinvent it, make it fresh again?" IMO, this is one of Zoids best distinguishing features, which helps to prevent it from getting stale.
This is also what often happens with military vehicles in real life. If a ship is getting old: they refit it, often more than once in its lifetime. Fighter jets often come in different configurations meant for different mission profiles, such as air superiority or anti-tank/surface respectively. Not to mention different camo patterns. Need to blow up something? Give it a pair of BFGs and some missile pods! Need to get and there close and rip it to shreds? Then mount a pair of X-Scissors!
This is a feature that I fear that Hasbro is ignoring again, to the detriment of the American release.

The cannons are for the ZiNA Zoid Battle competition, focused around the new switch game, Zoids Wild Infinity Blast.
In the game, when you make a custom Zoid, you can generate a "ZiNA Code" of it. This allows other people to add that custom to their game. Then they can either fight it themselves, or in the case of this event, pit 2 customs against each other in a fully AI-controlled battle. The person who created the winning custom of each tournament will win the cannons. However, there aren't very many given out, so they'll be really hard to get ahold of.
(As usual, this is a Japan-only event. Overseas fans cannot receive the prize, even if they submit a ZiNA code).

1) I hope that Zoids Wild Infinity Blast makes it overseas too, if only so that I can finally pilot a Geno Breaker.
2) I hope that maybe for once, a similar contest is held here. Nintendo of America has been pretty good about holding events for Pokemon, but since it's Hasbro and Outright Games that's in charge of the American Zoids release, and they've never done anything like this before... But I hope that both companies see a money making opportunity here, since video games probably sell better than model kits anyways.
3) I REALLY like the idea of being able to create custom Zoids. I see this as a major selling point for future games, and I hope that this feature is further developed. I'd prefer if they make players bring out the full capabilities of their personal Zoids, rather than letting the AIs fight for them, and I really hope that the possibility of fighting against players overseas is not out of the question in the future. This goes right to the notion that Zoid Pilots will often times customize their Zoids with their own color scheme and equipment, making them unique. I also see a potential way to bring back Saga in this fashion, which would probably be better for tournaments due to all of the different strategic factors.
4) I hope that they release those parts a CP in the future. Granted that I don't have much money to buy Zoids with, for various reasons, but I'd like that option for the future.

A) I really like the new take on the Buster Cannons. Wish they dremmeled out the barrel tips though.
B) I think Xeno Rex looks good in the coloration too (but I suspect at this point he'd look good in Plum Crazy).
C) When is Kotobukiya going to do this design? In fact, when are they going to get to Zoids Wild Zero period? Sry, but I've never really liked the bare bones, barely armed designs of the initial series.
D) I hope they keep coming up with ways to modify and improve existing designs. I think that Xeno Rex should have come with these cannons in the first place. But then, Gojulas Giga had the same f-ing problem, and HasBen, being the idiots they are, never released the Cannons in the States... Hope history doesn't repeat itself.

This is the first ZW design I really like. No offense to the ZW fans, but I've never been a fan of the aesthetic. Any idea on the release date?

I'm surprised that Takara Tomy didn't announce ZW59 yet. Will this kit be the last in the line?
