That is the kind of custom that would sweep the old Grand Prix contests! I would lose to it gladly!

Okay, I've never watched the show, or ever bought a product from the line (I keep saying that I'm going to watch the series online, but can never seem to find the time, and I'm not the type of person to watching shows on streaming services like Netflix, which is where it airs), but this is the first design of the Zoids Wild series that has really caught my fancy.
It is two very attractive shades of blue, and armed to the teeth. Too bad it's a limited, and a Takara Tomy Mall exclusive to boot? If so, I imagine getting one outside of Japan would be difficult and expensive.
If I'm wrong, I've been seriously contemplating buying a Zoid, but this time additionally doing the ink-washing and detailing. I figure that at the very least, making a Zoid look like the official product ought to keep me busy for quite some time.
Guess that I have until July to figure out what I'm going to do, and maybe buy the right products and test them out on this Arosaurer I've kept packaged. It's not like they are expensive/in high demand and can't be replaced if I screw up, unlike with this Liger.
Edit: How can a used NJR Arosaurer now be worth nearly $60?! Well, duh, it's now vintage, isn't it?! I don't even want to know how much my NJR Death Stinger is worth...
Okay...I might need to rethink this.

You can get one through deputy services like White Rabbit Express, but it would indeed be expensive. The kit is, to begin with, kind of expensive... A new video has been posted showing off some interesting images. First that this is getting its own logo and everything as a side series. Second interesting image is what looks like part of the box art or lore. Can't wait to see what comes out of this series, and because of the difficulty of getting this guy I've been trying hard to talk myself out of needing it, but ugh... We'll see what it turns out like.

Sorry for bringing up this old post, but thought I'd share a tip: Another option might be to consider your local thrift store toybin, or finding a cheap Toy at the Dollar Stores and practice on something like that. That way, you don't risk damaging a Zoid, until your technique is at least stable--including corrective measures.
Maethius: Indeed, I was wondering why the look was striking. I think you've hit the nail on the head. The Whitzes are well-liked in my fandom. I've been torn on Wild Liger, but now I'm going to have to give it a closer look.

Yeah, I think your judgment is absolutely right. It's one thing if I can find cheap Zoids at WalMart (I miss those days. I used to buy them there all the time). I'll look next time I get the chance, but I think that my first priority should be A) finding the right minimum materials (inkwash first, decide which paints, if any that I'll use later), find guides to reference online, and find a cheap toy to practice with. At the very least, I should inkwash Arosaurer and Death Stinger before I buy another Zoid, but it no longer feels right to consider going beyond detailing them, now that they are so rare/expensive. I doubt I'll actually end up doing it anytime soon unless I see something that I really feel that I want, due to money being an issue (ironic, since I now have a job). And there is still the hope that Diaz's Liger will see further releases, now that I think of it. In the past, it wasn't uncommon for very limited units exclusive to events to attract turnout or contest prizes to later receive a further release later, especially when they are popular. Bear Fighter, Black Rhimos, Leon's Blade Liger and Shield Liger DCS-J are examples off the top of my head, though that is dependent on how the popularity of the Wild series persists.
