The video features the new "B-Damon" spin off, "Bottle man" which is honestly such a quirky and...kinda cool idea (the anime looks absolutely ridiculous though XD)! It brings back a lot of memories of the B-Damon I had when I was a kid. I always wished I had people to play B-Damon with. It seems that like the Zoids minis series, this anime will be fully on youtube as well. It's also getting a Switch game?! that's neat. Beyblade is also featured here. happy to see that franchise going strong (I recently just purchased a few Burst Beyblades myself, for collection purposes). They even make a really cool comparison between the new Beyblade and Rising Liger; their color schemes are very similar. The new Beyblade bears some similarities to the design behind their Zero-G line, with reversible parts. Rising Liger looks REALLY good in person but oh man...Burning Liger is exciting! I like the aesthetic and cannot wait to see what weapons they come up with for their Zoids.

Since nobody else has posted them yet, here are the new preview pictures that are floating around the interwebs. I'm not a huge fan of the proportions, but the overall aesthetic is pretty oldschool, so that's good. It's also up for preorder at HLJ with more pics, incidentally.    |

There's something intensely wholesome about three grown men excitedly showing off various cool toys and sharing them with each other. They're so genuine. I also never realized before there's a pun with Rising sounding like Raijin, no wonder it shows up so often in things.
Burning Liger definitely has weird legs, but they do kind of give it a retro Saber Tiger look. Certainly not terrible, just not one I think I'd be bursting to get. I do like the ability to turn the gatling gun around (though I can't tell if it can elevate or if it's stuck pointing slightly upward like so many Wild weapons) and I'm so stoked the pilot gets a real cockpit! Just give us back real jointed legs, Tomy. That's all I ask.

Are you getting the set with the Impact Gatling, just the Liger or are you purchasing the Liger and the Gatling separately?
I like the box art for the Liger itself but if I decide to get the weapon buying separately does increase costs.

I ordered the full set. The boxes are nice, but I don't have space to display them so they go straight to the basement anyway.

If I end up getting this kit, I am primarily concerned wtith avaliability. If I end up paying a bit extra because I couldn't snag the set that's fine. The set doesn't seem to have any real exclusives anyway.
As for the boxes, I am at a point in my life that I just throw them out.

All of the promotional images for the Liger are much glossier and more panel-lined than I realized. Hell it even looks metallic.
Kind of weird to see how flat it really is. It isn't even a bad choice, but the difference is huge.

It isn't even a bad choice, but the difference is huge. You're not just whistling dixie. Everything about it looks completely different. That cute YouTube video with the guys presenting it sure made it look more metallic, did I just imagine that? So far the Wild zoids have been a fair bit different from their box art. I was a tad disappointed by Hunter Wolf, the blue and the yellow both looked much nicer on the box. On the other hand, Rising Liger had a warmer, butterier gold painted on TOP of its sort of brassy gold, so no complaints there. I will say that overall, Burning Liger looks better every time I see it, and it's going to be hard to resist, even with the weird legs EDIT: I did imagine it. In the video, you can clearly see it's not metallic red. |
