Not a lot of info to be had here, but it looks like Zoids Wild is coming to Netflix this Friday (at least in the US, haven't seen anything about other countries). imgur.com/a/Jq7EHS2The cast listed are the original Japanese voices, so I've seen some theorize that this might be a sub. Personally I'm hoping this is the dub that Hasbro has been working on, or if it is a sub, that it doesn't mean that dub is no longer in the works.

Neat. Maybe the other series will find their way there too.

So only the original Japanese version is going on Netflix?

Netflix lists the Japanese cast for all of their anime, even if it is a dub, so we won't know what version it is until Friday.

WHOO! I am very excited about this, I hope there's a subtitle version at least. Either way I am definitely going to re-watch.

Is ZERO joining it or just the original?
PSA: If for some reason, ZOIDS WILD is unavailable in your region, use a VPN!

ZERO will likely follow quite a while behind Zoids Wild. It hasn't finished airing in Japan yet, so probably not coming with this update. If I had to guess, this will be the batch of episodes that span the first opening, and we will get each opening or 'season' separately as the toys release. This one is probably being pushed to hype the game.

Only 25 out of 50 episodes are on it. It's also a new dub.

Not showing up in the UK. Must be US Netflix only. Time to start playing with VPNs I guess...
And still no word from Hasbro about the toys? Bizarre.

And still no word from Hasbro about the toys? Bizarre. This, and the lack of any actual announcement/promotion of the show from Netflix has me worried. It's almost like they want the show to not do good.

The synopsis was posted on Netflix UK prior to the release, but was yanked before it could be aired, unfortunately. I wonder if the UK thing was an oversight, or if perhaps the UK's schedule to receive associated products is lagging behind?

Man... no option for original audio with subtitles. I'm pretty bummed out by how this release has been handled. Zoids Wild is already not the most accessible, and it seems like even here only Hanyoutai and I really like it. But the Netflix release has given it the complete 90's anime localization experience-- opening and ending themes gutted and replaced with generic instrumental studio music (complete with shouting the word "ZOIDS" in the intro). Names changed around for some dumb dinosaur rationalization that western audiences would relate more to "Shade" and "Quade" than to the Japanese names... which were already English words. For some reason changing "Death Metal" to "Dark Metal" really annoys me. It's already not a great name, but still there is some synergy with the music motif- Death Metal, the RAP thing, Gyoza's beatboxing, Foie Gras' drumming, the whole band scene in episode 50. But even this small thing is thrown out the window, as if hearing the name "Death Metal" in a cartoon really holds a candle to all the other reasons kids might be messed up these days(like the institution of democracy being eroded, for example).
Also the dubbing. I know it's an easy target to pick on and I'm sure the English-language voice actors put a lot of effort into it, but I really think one of the strengths of the Japanese voices was how Arashi was not given a high-pitched "kid" voice... which is what he now has in the dub. I'm probably thinking about this way too much, but I just hoped finally in 2020 Zoids might get at least decent treatment and a chance to shine outside of Asia, and I don't think this version of the show puts its best foot forward.

Didn't Chaotic Century's English opening have someone shouting "ZOIDS!" too?

That's what I mean. 20 years ago they had the excuse of anime being new (to the US at least) and making tone deaf decisions when localizing things. Nowadays I'd hope that better decisions would be made, like paying for the rights to use the original music.

I wish they put the dub on TV instead of Netflix. Also, Chaotic Century's English dub came out in 2002, which was 18 years ago, not 20. At least the dubs of Chaotic Century/Guardian Force, New Century/ZERO, and Fuzors kept the original Japanese soundtrack from the original Japanese versions.
