It seems Death Rex is getting a makeover for the new series of Zoids Wild, seen with this leak. The giant jaws from before have been converted into two large weapons, though the nature of this weapon is not yet known. Fans are so far theorizing a giant CPC, which would be on track for Zoids. Have to wait to see better pics, but so far underwhelming.. that visor look does not suit the kit.

I'm fine with the visor, but can't quite tell what I'm looking at on top of its head. Whatever that crest thing is, is really disruptive to its rexy appearance. I like the concept for the Wild Blast though, and it almost looks like a moving fortress with all those missiles/etc. on the back. Most excited, however, for those blue caps. Excellent looking color.

When you remember how small these are, somehow that helps me forgive the entire body being devoted to a weapon that... nearly defeats the purpose of a zoid having an articulated animal body in the first place

Looks better than I thought but that "visor eye" does not, as expected. I mean it runs all the way up to his nose.. meh

This is going to make some beautiful customs, at least. It's begging to have all of its well-sculpted parts reassigned to a less stumpy body (reminds me of all the attempts at making movie Grimlock). The eye might not be winning any aesthetics awards, but it's not clear plastic so you're not losing anything by painting right over it, or even taking it out and adding new eyebrow cowlings and putting in some nice plastic bead jewels as new eyes. Really the entire Wild line has me inspired to "fix" them in ways I've never felt before

The eye looks like a custom when someone ran out of time before a contest.  The proportions make it look like a small windup... I think the eye gives that impression, too. I would like to see more detailed photos when they are available. |

The Omega Rex is now up on the TakaraTomy Mall! It includes product photos and box art. It seems that Omega Rex's particle weaponry will be a striking green, a first for large-scale particle weapons in the anime. |
