Perhaps it will be a "final evolution" type form that signals the start of the transition from Zoids Wild to the new series? It does look far more mechanical and advanced than the Wild Liger... sort of like the Genesis Ligers were stages of their evolution.

Oh wow, we're doing that thing where there's eleventy billion variations on the same Liger. Never seen that before. Groan. BUT there is one difference here... in this case, using the same structures over and over again with different armor kits does give us the opportunity to get a design that is actually good enough to buy! ^_^ Yeah, at least they're not getting progressively more hideous like the Genesis Ligers that everyone inexplicably goes ga-ga over.

I do like the Beast Liger, as a refined or unleashed development from the first Liger. This is kind of how I arbitrarily would rank how much I like the visual design of "main character" Ligers, based on nothing and subject to change:
1/2. Shield Liger/Liger Zero -I think Zero the most iconic silhouette/color scheme, but Shield Liger is the most distinct with how boxy and sturdy it looks.
3. Wild Liger -To me kind of the opposite of Shield Liger, way light on the "constructed" look and heavy on the feral side
4. Beast Liger/Blade Liger -I like that they feel like natural extensions of their predecessors. I guess I don't know yet if Beast Liger is actually that but the designs seems related enough.
5. Liger Zero changing armors -Different outfits for a cool base model? Really like them. Though I have to say I like seeing customs where they're painted as a set with matching colors.
--this is where I shift from liking them to not really liking them--
6. Liger Zero Phoenix/Genesis Ligers. -For the Genesis Ligers, I feel like these borrow too much from the Liger Zero, just with adding longer spikes and swords. With Phoenix, it of course does just use the Zero as a base but at least the wings change the silhouette so much that it seems more like its own thing.
I'll admit Ligers are not my favorite kind of Zoids though. If I were to rate gorilla Zoids for example they would all be A+ in my book.

A Beast Liger commercial was posted on twitter. This was aired earlier but I'm not sure if we've seen an actual uploaded raw version?
Also, Zoids Wild will be seeing its first Weapons Campaign, much like the Z-Cap Campaigns. Starting on July 27th (when the Zoids are released) fans can pick up limited edition weapon sets by spending 3,000 yen or more at participating stores. The set comes in 2 colors, Silver Titanium or Steel Metal.

Saw an image from twitter user keita where they show a detail about Wild Liger compared to Beast Liger. I guess the new one is less pointy? Not clear if it's an intentional design direction change or just safer for kids.

I'm guessing it may be to meet wider distribution standards... US toys are not supposed to be "hazardously pointy," so maybe that is an indicator of opening other markets as well?

An interesting hypothesis! Hadn't thought of that reasoning but sounds plausible for sure.

Nerf has similar product guidelines so they can sell their guns in places where toy guns are allowed to have NO realistic colors.
