Recently I stumbled across this auction for a 1989 Tomy catalog with a concept art for the King Liger that I have never seen before. Sadly I had a competitor who was willing to go higher than me; which I now dearly regret in hindsight. Unfortunately I am not able to find this specific concept art anywhere else. I am desperate to acquire a better picture of it for personal reasons, and would immensely appreciate any help.

It looks like the concept art for the original KL kit, but stylized. If could also be in line of the original "variant" box art that adorned older kit boxes (though I don't remember any from the Grade-Up era). It looks rather cool... the Gul Tiger looks pretty mean, too.

I think I have the OJR KL box, maybe it's printed on there. Will have to check.

I just checked my still boxed Grade Up King Ligers, unfortunately there's no concept art or art of any kind to be found at all; neither on the box, booklet or instructions. Since this is a '89 catalog and the King Liger was released that same year, it seems that the King Liger, the Gul Tiger and the Grade Up units 4 and 5 were advertised with concept arts in stead of the actual kits for unknown reason. Possibly they simply didn't exist yet? The final kits deviate quite the bit after all, especially what I assume to be the Winglider unit. (which is kind of a shame - I like this sleek hexa-bladed King Liger a lot honestly) I have found a black and white variant of the Gul Tiger and another KL concept here on Zoids Ignition, however they seem to me as if they predate the ones in the catalog and especially the King Liger differs greatly. Sadly Zoids Ignition does not seem to have any other concept arts of the King Liger, or at least I can't find them. I hope this one isn't exclusive to this catalog only... finding another one for sale will be a tough game of luck.
