hello. this is my 2nd post. i thought id show off the pair of hacker z-knights i got off of ebay for a bargain. one was missing only the chest plate but the other was missing most of its armor and an internal arm moving link so i decided to make him RC. i have used an 8ch radiolink t8fb transmitter and reciever, 4x sg90 servos, a small brushed esc, and a 1s 14400 lipo battery (AA shaped but 3.7 to 4.2v) the main tools i used were a dremel with cutting disk, various files, a thin hot wire(to make tiny screw holes), a soldering iron, and no glue needed heres a rear and front view pic of the original and the rc one. he has the ability to walk backwards and forwards now at a variable rate which can be faster than normal due to the extra voltage from the lipo battery which convieniently still fits in the original battery holder. the shoulders can rotate up and down and the elbows can bend also. this means he can punch, smash downwards, lift upwards or wave his fists in anger . all of this only takes up 5ch of my remote so the possibility of adding a steering mechanism (like tank steering ) is on the table once i figure it out. let me know if you'd like to know anything else or have some suggestions for me about the steering? thanks jim

Very cool! I love the Desert Walker... I bought one as a form of trans/Iron Kong prototype and fitted it with a Zoid pilot cockpit. ^_^

Nice stuff! Don't let a Rev Raptor snag those cables!
I don't have any pictures of my modded Walker, but I would love to snag it out of storage and do some mods on it.

Interesting custom, I want to see how it's turn out at the very end.
Also, I did send you a PM, you can go to take a look.

thanks for the replies. some bits n bobs came today (step up voltage regulator) so i had another go at rewiring him......with limited success. here's the teeny tiny esc(motor controller) and the voltage regulator chip next to the box i needed to stuff them into. here they are stuffed in (sorry for the bad focus) annoyingly after all that work the voltage regulator didn't have enough power for both the motor and servos all at once and kept cutting out. so i had to remove it. but the esc relocation worked out fine. im waiting for new servo end kits so i can shorten the wires properly. after that he'll be pretty much done. p.s. dont worry about the chest plate.....https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-8G-40CH-25mW-1-4-CMOS-Sensor-FPV-Micro-AIO-Drone-Helicopter-Camera-2-1mm-Lens/132487551174?hash=item1ed8df98c6:g:V-IAAOSwg31ab-7b one of these should fit nicely in its place. So i can have an fpv(first person view) z-knight experience
