I wanted an ironical title for the thread, but you will see, it is not funny.
Recently, a member contatced me about several elusives Zoids : Fangz, the Ghost, some Zoids2 variants and Ultrasaurus Red. I searched in all my records, my photos and my archives on paper, and I realized
I was already suspicious, 4/5 years ago, about Ultrasaurus Red and several testimonies we had about it. To resume, it seems a late member of ZP and Pheno, named Andy, sent fake informations. To begin, in 2003, we saw an auction on ebay UK, with an Ultrasaurus Red. You can see the photo of the auction, the third one at the bottom :
The two other photos were taken at Andy’s place. Nothing to notice ? It is the same room. The seller in 2003 told me his Ultrasaurus Red was a genuine one, a real model bought in shop. But on another photo of the auction, you can notice that it is a painted Zoids2.
Andy posted the photo of the custom of Ultrasaurus Red and Deathsaurus in the Reference Center, custom he probably did. You can see the Deathsaurus in his place, on the above photo.
Several years later, Andy posted a photo of an Ultrasaurus Red, and after two or three days, he told us it was a custom, but nothing more.
A strange thing, the stickers on ther three Ultrasaurus Red we saw (Reference Center, auction and this late one) are from Scavenger, and the front guns are not at there real place. It is the same one.
Now, the Ghost, the Zoids2 and Fangz.
In 2004, a member of Zoidfans brought back a strange Liger :
I talked to him recently, he doesn’t remember where he got it. In april 2005, a lot of those strange transluscent Zoids appeared (all in UK) :
Look at the background of the photo, keep it in mind.
Late may from the same year, Andy posted in the Reference Center the photos of Ultrasaurus Red and Deathsaurus, and of an unknown Robo Strux, Fangz. We could only see two photo from a supposed auction we never saw in real.
See the background again ?
In december 2015, a Ghost Shield Tiger and a Ghost Zilla appeared on ebay UK, from the same seller. It is here that the word “Ghost” is pronounced the first time, by the seller.
One auction has the same white background, and the other the blue.
It is the year after that we began to see the Zoids2 variants, from ebay UK, and from the same seller, Dynabyte. We saw a Zenebas Helldigunner, which was actually a parts swap :
You’re recognizing the blue background ? It is the same we can see on those auctions of supposed Zoids2 variants, that are only dechromed ones :
So, to be clear. We were abused (me the first) by someone who invented rare Zoids were there was nothing. Most of all, he sent a lot of false informations about Ultrasaurus Red, I met someone telling me he saw Ultrasaurus Red and Deathsaurus released in whote boxes (like the Ghost Zoids ones ? Strange…) that were prize at a contest (like the Ghost Zoids contest Andy told us about …?).
So, to resume.
Fangz doesn’t exist, it is pure invention.
A lot of things said about Ultrasaurus Red are false. The only sure thing, is that there was one prototype, in the 1987 catalog, which was a painted OJR, with a red neck and brown canopy.
The Ghost Zoids are dechromed Zoids2. Maybe a test shot appeared one day, that could make a Ghost, but there are no contest, no official release, nothing.
Several Zoids2 variants are dechromed Zoids2 (not all, there are real variants, but I should separe them from the rest).
I will soon try to update my site, that I didn’t touch for years, to tell the truth about all this story, and delete all the false things on it.
