I don't think I have ever asked you! What paints do you use? Airbrush model? Also really curious how you managed that effect with the blue. IS that genuinely lit or is it just a bright color? Redler is my favorite flying type Zoid and this is such a great way to further the concept. STUFFS! Okay, I'll take a swing: PAINTS! I use a blend of paints now. Gil Kaiserin was base-coated with Krylon gray primer, then shaded with Testor's enamel; a custom dark gray blend made from Gunship Gray (almost exactly the same color as primer) and flat black. SKG was based in Rustolium X2 white primer. This model was not primed; it was based with airbrushed flat black. It is top-coated in Testors Aztek acrylics... which I never used before this series of customs. AIRBRUSH! I use an Iwata Eclipse as my primary brush now, and my Iwata HP-C is my backup (my, "this could kill my airbrush if it doesn't work" brush is my original Iwata HP-B) BLUE!!! The glowy blue is actually a custom blended phosphorescent lacquer; I bought the pigment online and mixed it with Testor's clear semi-gloss. Now, this stuff is HELL on your airbrush, so I don't recommend using it in your main brush! Apparently you can't really grind it finer without losing the glow effect. I paint this over a substrate of flat white... this allows me to use less glowy paint and keeps it brighter both in the light and under UV... so it's kinda both genuinely lit and UV-boosted. ^_^ I'm glad you like it! |

I notice of your 3 primary Factions Zenevas did get any new zoid recently. Does this mean your next custom works will be in Zenevas?
As for this custom, you always inspire me with your works. Taking a wind up Redler and changing along with adding to give it double to nearly triple it's size is just outstanding.
Btw I was able to order a set of Asoblocks. I can't wait to get my hands on them and try it out. I'll be sure to update.

The choice of faction for the last several customs has been my client's choice (though I really enjoy working on them!) The next four customs on my bench are 2 Guylos and 2 Helic (to finish out the set of 6) After that I have several ideas ready to roll, but I would love to see some Zenebas action... including a reworking of Fusillade to my current standards.
Really glad you got some Asoblocks coming! They are fantastic for smaller kits!
