The blue caps change the overall look so much. I think I like this color scheme over the original.

My Wild Ligers Before I put on the Evil Armor The middle one is Special edition Wild Liger. After I put on the Evil Armor After I have the Wild Liger Guren ver. and Wild Liger Evil, I like the Special edition Wild Liger more then all the others. Also, fix a bit of my junk Mad Thunder- Although it can standing up(but can't walk yet), but also found out I miss 1 more part other then those one I already know. With a complete Mad Thunder- The part that is missing are the armor under the neck(D10)

Got the MSS Hammer Rock snapped together. Here it is inconspicuously hanging out in the backyard.

Ankyrox!
Also got the Kotobukiya Lucifer's Wing. My goal was to use it as a base for a HMM-style Orudios custom... was this the fastest custom ever? Sort of a funny build too since I mostly wanted it for just the horse portion but it comes with so much extra stuff. The proportions already look a little motorized Zoid-esque to me too, since the shoulders and hips are so wide. Oh and maybe the coolest surprise, those blue clear wing parts can all individually extend out.

Wow, that Wing kit is BIG! I bet it could make a striking Orudios!

Yeah it's sort of monstrous. I probably won't get to starting the custom for a while, but I wanted to share in case anyone else was considering picking it up for Zoids purposes.

Long time no see my friends. Last build was over 2yrs ago due to grad school time constraints. Started slow with an STK mini I got packaged with an official zoid. Was curious to see bootleg quality & as expected, I fought with it quite a bit & he doesn't stay together well but I didn't use glue (it's been so long, I need to buy more). Will not even breathe on it lol. Color scheme is fine though.

Whoa that's pretty neat! The clear blue is kind of cool haha.
Finally got around to some straight builds. Almost done snap fitting this one together, just needing the hind legs.
The Saber Tiger has a lot of very impressive engineering, but also some... baffling choices. For example, why on earth are these red circle details separate, moving pieces? They don't stay on well, and as far as I can tell they don't even do anything particularly cool. It seems like it's an extra point of movement but also risk of stuff falling off so whenever you bend the elbow joint, you have to manually push the circles back into place. Will definitely cut off the rotating peg and just glue it in place if I get around to painting it.

Okay, done now! Overall thoughts... looks amazing! but maybe a little over-designed. Purely aesthetically, there's a lot of love shown towards the source material while focusing on "updating" too, especially with the weapons. My favorite parts of the HMM's design are probably slightly smaller head size and the look of the claws and teeth. However I do think some of the elegance or grace from the original is missing, particularly the swoop of the body chassis on the Tomy version compared to Koto's. Also I have to say I can't unsee Snowflake's observation about the hind legs being very strangely proportioned. Functionally, kind of the same impression. Some poses on the box and when the prototype was first being shown off, I'm afraid of even trying to do for fear of pieces flying off, which is why I have only taken one photo here. There's a couple small QC issues too with parts just not fitting that well together, though I think I'm spoiled by Bandai's precision with their kits. The pec-hinge type joints in the shoulders and hips really let it be more expressive though. The most fun articulation though for me are the neck, with the working pistons, and the individual toes, though I wish the parts of the foot would stay on a little better. So there's my unsolicited mini-review for a kit that first came out in 2013 : )

It is a pretty nice kit, and I agree totally on the love of the original while at the same time over-complicating the build.

I've had some more time at home than usual, so I've been able to start working through my backlog of kits a little bit. Keeping on with the HMM re-releases, here's the Godos.
Pretty nifty little guy, with a lot of alternate parts. Personally I like the newly added cockpit compared to the previous one. Construction-wise, it's pretty straightforward and stays together noticeably better than the Saber Tiger. I don't know if it's just because it was made later, or because it's smaller with fewer moving pieces, but basically there were no instances of left and right halves of a part just fitting together poorly. I found it interesting that in keeping with the spirit of the original-- Godos being historically important for Zoids but canonically not the most combat-capable or mobile-- the shoulders and hips are essentially pivot joints only (can't do a "T" pose or side splits at all). The tail for me is the most fun area, with each segment being jointed in addition to each dorsal spine being hinged.
Comes with not only alternate parts, but a bunch of unused pieces. I was curious what these were for, so I looked up scans of the Iguan manual, but found it had a lot of the same unused parts. I was stumped until realizing that a lot of these are meant for the Pteras kit, which I thought was pretty cool. I'd recommend this one, though it does make me want to track down a Dos Godos from the Rebirth line.
