It didn't look recycled. there were a bunch of changes (mostly bad, a few good) and a totally different style Well I'm getting my shows mixed up, not sure why. I think it was NCZ that used CC's models. Ignore what I said about the models, I have no idea why I was thinking that, probably lack of sleep.

NC0 did ruse models for the older zoids, with some being recolored or modified, makes sense though, saves money. Possibly more money than creating new, cheaper made, models for the same zoids

Some Fuzors Zoids actually do re-use old models, while some have newer ones. You'll notice in particular differences in Zoids like the Command Wolf. However, the quality between the two is a matter of shaders and animation, not models. NC0 looks the way it does because it's set up to shade in a different style. As Tilly once famously pointed out, here's a screencap from NC0 where the shaders glitched and showed what the model would look like without them. Just for a split second, but it really shows the importance of that post processing detail. I don't remember many re-used animation sequences though? Except for very minor ones, like the Raven saber leap at the volcano. EDIT: Oops, when I clicked the thread to see new posts, didn't see the last page. Redundant post is redundant, sorry.

Ironically that unshaded Zero still looks better than the Tiger from Fuzors, especially in terms of detail

So I decided to look at the Field of Rebellion trademark application in a bit more detail to see if I could figure out any more details. It's listed under classes 9 (electrical/scientific apparatus) and 41 (education/entertainment services), which does cover video games, but also other software, movies, music... pretty much any digital media. What it doesn't cover is print media, so it's a safe bet that Field of Rebellion won't be a book or manga (I guess we're never getting Concept Art IV ). I also checked the trademark for Material Hunters as a comparison. It's in classes 9 and 41 again, of course, but it's also in class 28 (toys and physical games). This could have something to do with the G-cluster device, or maybe they were hoping to make some physical spinoffs, or they might just have added it to all the "game"-type categories just to be safe. At any rate, Field of Rebellion is not under class 28, which means it's not a toy line or a standalone game device like Battle Blox. Looking at their specific subclasses, Field of Rebellion seems to cover a slightly wider range than Material Hunters, although they're both pretty broad. A lot of the subclasses seem to involve storage media (CDs, DVDs and so on) and internet streaming/downloads, with Field of Rebellion having noticeably more of the latter than Material Hunters. There are too many options to say anything for certain, but I'm pretty sure Field of Rebellion is going to be either a downloadable game of some sort (maybe with a physical release if it's for consoles) or possibly a "Netflix original"-style streaming movie/video series. The similarity between the subclass lists for Material Hunters and Field of Rebellion has me leaning towards a mobile game... but it feels like Takara Tomy is putting in a lot more effort to hype it up than a mobile game would justify. I can hope.

Material Hunter got booth babes and an oversized liger toy next to it. I would not say what they do now is "more than they did before" so a crappy mobile game is still in the field of possible solutions... albeit a very bad one. Serious game advertisement looks different...

If it's correct then yeah, they left it ambiguous with those trademarks and it's too early to tell, but at least we CAN tell that it won't be something like them just selling posters or tshirts, or a manga or something, it narrows down all the stuff that nobody really wanted anyways.

I'm hoping (not relying on it, but hoping) that a broader class might mark a bigger, broader product launch. Say, more kits, printed material, and a game? So hard to say.

Also, I seriously hope its not just printed materials or kits. Zoids needs a name, reboot it into a mature setting (the teaser page already hints at this) and do it right this time for a more mature audience. I'm really really hoping a movie or series comes out of this, this is what the franchise REALLY needs.

ANd I think marketing it for teens would be mature enough.

EDIT: Aha, Dengeki says we can expect more info on the 7th of October. There are too many options to say anything for certain, but I'm pretty sure Field of Rebellion is going to be either a downloadable game of some sort (maybe with a physical release if it's for consoles) or possibly a "Netflix original"-style streaming movie/video series. (Not to say that they can't also release books and models as part of the "project", but that's not what they're trademarking Field of Rebellion for.)

The 10/6 deadline is just for the twitter contest, it doesn't mean we'll get any information tomorrow. Dengeki's website is, if I'm reading correctly, referring to the publication date for this month's Dengeki magazine, which I expect will have more information. Big announcements like this still usually hit print in magazines first, so that's what I'm putting my money on. I'd expect to see scans/more details this weekend.

Except that Dengeki Hobby Magazine ended more than a year ago (and it was published on the 25th anyway, like many hobby magazines). The Dengeki page says "apparently they plan to release further information on the 7th of October", so an update to the teaser site is the most likely option.
