Interesting so it is most likely a game then.. You wouldn't believe it I've been speaking to the Takara Tomy employee via the hello talk app past couple of months (language exchange app) who posted the teaser online. But can't say anything though of course. Very cruel! Small world though. |

Companies will file trademarks for all sorts of things they think might be relevant, so trademarking the name for a video game isn't as indicative as one might think. They could be planning a video game, a video game tie-in to something else, or just be grabbing the trademark so they can make use of it at a future date if they feel like it. All we really know is that 'Field of Rebellion' is likely the name of the project, and that a video game is at least one possibility.

I look at that amazing art and get my hopes up greatly for a new series or movie. If it's a game, I'm going to be pretty disappointing and likely won't play it. The past zoids games were never really any fun and they probably don't have enough funding or talent to create a game on the scale / type of mechwarrior 4 or anything interesting.

I think a game is most likely. Maybe even a mobile game, unfortunately. I'd also like to hope for it to be something larger, a new anime or movie would be amazing but I just don't see that happening. Hopefully I'm wrong!

Saw a few people sharing this on Facebook. Why is that so special to me? Because this is the first time I've seen Zoids mentioned outside of fansites/groups since the early 2000s. How exciting!

Whether it's a game or not ,(hoping it's a new anime too personally) I am always just so happy to see anything new with zoids be released, and it become popular via social media even better! The more zoid fans who come out of the woodwork the more money can be made thus they'll bother with new projects. Over 5000 thousand reblogs of the Takara tomy twitter post in a couple of days is just fantastic!

Okay, that's one possibility down.
The same day as the Zoids teaser site went up, Warner Brothers and Toho announced that they were teaming up for a "big movie project"... but they've just revealed that it's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable.
I guess it's still possible for the new Zoids project to be a movie too, but it's not the WB x Toho one.
(The music sounds more like a game soundtrack to me, but it could also be an opening or promo theme.)

With their history, I wonder if it yet another battle game, or if they are trying for an MMORPG type product. Since the liger shown is obviously a souped up image of the Masterpiece version, it makes me wonder if there will be a tie-in for a new associated product line.

With their one and only MMO so far they drove straight into a brick wall. Would surprise me if they tried this again. If this is a game chances are much higher for a crappy, short lived mobile game with pay-wall everywhere.
