Not sure if this would fit in General, so I figured OT would be good enough.
So, I'm an avid cosplayer, and for an anime convention next year, I'm considering pulling out all the stops and building a Zoid cosplay. Not a character from one of the animes, but an actual armor kit of one of the mechs that I can wear.
I've got an idea of what to do, but I'm having trouble picking a model. Thinking about Zero Schneider, but the blades could be a bit of a issue to have sturdy and lightweight enough that I wouldn't hurt myself.
Any other ideas for a recognizable Zoid that would be an easy build?

Zero is the safest bet if you want recognizable. Schneider I would love to see. I have seen a schneider head piece be done by I think Aurora lion. Pointy bits are surely possible without being too heavy.
Trying to think what I have seen off the top of my head. Zero original,Schneider,Jager,Panzer, Blade liger, Mugen liger, Murasame, Rev raptor,Deathsaurer, Geno breaker,King gojulas, Lightning saix, Shadow fox,Berserk fury sure there's others I can't think of. I really need to create an archive of all these sometime. Could do an organoid! I would love to see an organoid, not sure if it's been done. Seriously though I still like the schneider idea. Do what your heart desires.

It's probably not particularly recognisable or easy, but someday I'd really like to make a Rayse Tiger cosplay using this stuff. For actual suggestions, I'd say one of the basic ligers (Shieldy, Bladey, Zero) or possibly an upright theropod (Death Saurer, the Organoids) would be best for public familiarity and not having too many extra bits hanging off it. ...aaaaand Vig posted before I got around to submitting this >_>

Easy is a relative term when converting an animal to a human form! Here are some that jump to my mind (again, easy? probably not!). I have seen (seen Deathsaurer, King Gojulas, Berserk Fuhrer, and Rev Raptor, as well as Liger Zero/Jaeger. 1) Godos/Iguan = very humanoid in proportion 2) Gojulas = probably one of the most human proportional designs out there! I've seen a head done up, not a full body. 3) Iron Kong = kind of a gimme! 4) Salamander = it has human-shaped legs and the wings would be light weight 5) Genosaurer = if someone can do BF, someone can do Geno! 6) Speaking of raptors, how about Gun Sniper/Snipe Master? If you are considering going down on all fours with a Liger build, give these a shot: 6) Dibison = most pieces are square, and simple tubing can construct the guns 7) Cannon Tortoise! = Got a plastic clothes hamper? The frame to your shell is already done.

Thanks for the ideas guys! I'm really considering building an organoid now, but Schneider is in the back of my mind and I kinda feel like I've got my heart set on it. I might actually, if I can budget the next year's time right, be able to make both Schneider and an Organoid - most likely Zeke!
I'm gonna be taking a bit of inspiration from the other Zero CAS builds I've seen, so wish me luck! Luckily the armor is easy, but the head is gonna be a tough one. Shame I can't use a basic pepakura PDO file for a wearable Zero head and mod that!

It's probably not particularly recognisable or easy, but someday I'd really like to make a Rayse Tiger cosplay using this stuff. I would so love to see a glowy Rayse tiger. Anyone who had ever played zoids vs III would have to give it a big hug to say thank you for making the game that much easier to finish. 5) Genosaurer = if someone can do BF, someone can do Geno! Have you seen the Genobreaker?

Helmet concept is done! Obviously not final, but it's a good start.

An actual motorcycle helmet underneath? I must say For a cosplay that one looks mighty comfortable to wear. Well, For the head anyway.

Yup, going with that to ensure I'll have a solid base to build the head on. I'll probably get something I can remove some of the padding from so my head doesn't overheat, as that would be my only concern with assembling something that way.

5) Genosaurer = if someone can do BF, someone can do Geno! Have you seen the Genobreaker? That's quite the elaborate suit there. Not surprising though seeing it's from a contest
