Hello there! Long time lurker, decided to join to seek a bit of help. I've been trying to make nice, clean vectors of various logos and insignias in the Zoids universe, and I'm colossally stuck on the Eisen Dragoons. Does anybody recognise the font/s used here? I've been searching and searching and I keep coming up blank. I think there may be two fonts used here, one each for the capitals and the lowercase, but as I don't actually know the font I can't say for sure. I believe the lettering is skewed/sheared about 25-30 degrees, but again, can't be certain. The lettering is very distinctive - it has a slight serif, nothing drastic, and lots of curves - the lowercase 'e' is tilted upwards, the lowercase 'n' has a slight inwards curve, and the lowercase 'g' has a very slight s-bend in the descender. I've tried drawing it out, but nothing really meets the standards of the actual typed font. So, does anyone have any ideas?

It is also possible that the fonts are either custom or heavily modified from others; most companies don't want to play the IP infringement game!

It's possible, but for the most part, buying the rights to a pre-made font is infinitely quicker and cheaper than having a designer build a font from scratch, especially for so small a detail. Fonts don't really qualify as intellectual properties; unless it was made specifically for an IP, like the Lord of the Rings font, say, most everything can be bought for a reasonable price and used by designers. Eurostile, for instance, can be seen in just about every visual sci-fi IP these days. Also I really really *really* hope it's not a custom font, because replicating fonts from such tiny, tiny images... <shudder>

The font is Nuptial, or something very close to it. Includes the slant and all characters used.
Fwiw, yeah, Zoids seems to very rarely use a unique font. You can find Berserk Furhers and other Zoids online in various places.

Marvellous, thank you very much! Yep, that's bang on, with only very slight modifications to the shapes and kerning. Thank you for that, I feared I'd never find it on my own. And here's the image itself! I hope to upload a bunch of these as .svg files for free use in the future.

Nice to see someone as pedantic as I am If you're interested, there's several more faction logos from the video games and Battle Card Game - Hanyoutai was looking into them a while ago. You might struggle to find hi-res pictures of some of them, though...

Thanks, all! And yeah, pedantry is one of life's great joys. And thanks, Falcarius, for pointing me to those, they'll really come in handy.
