Wow! Someone beat me to it. I need to contact them and see if the would be willing to let me try and 3d print it. You might like, I've seen this on twitter, someone has digitally created a koto style Konig wolf , neat to see what one would look like:

That is pretty sweet! Not only that, but if you want to drop a ton of money on it, you could have that woof 3D printed!

How are you scanning parts into the printer? I have been thinking about investing into a printer and I want to be able to scan parts in and print copies.
Also, how do you go about designing new parts? How do you get exact measurments to make parts fit? What software do you use?
Sorry....I get very excited about 3D printing

It has to be rendered in lavender and brown to be an official HMM. Looks very good, though. You do realize that, if the model is created very well, you could potentially have that kit 3D printed, right?

Sorry....I get very excited about 3D printing My 3D program of choice is sketchup. It offers the shortest learning curve while still giving you the ability to make accurate models. For exact fits I use a David SLS-3 scanner with a 3rd party lens pick up almost perfect scans. I use those scans as references only since they are generally millions of triangles. Zoids are generally very planar so you can get them down to pretty small file sizes by remodeling them. generally down to a few thousand Tris. If you have any more specific questions I'll be glad to answer.

Please tell me more about the cost of your software, scanner, and lens! What printer do you use?
I really want to print a TOMY Command Wolf Leg because mine broke. I would either scan the opposite leg and mirror it, or, scan in the one and recreate the peg that broke.
Ideally I would love to create CAS armor for the Wolf and make original armor bits.

when you get this BF project done, are you going to sell kits for it? o: I would totally be interested in buying 3D printed CAS kits..

Ehh, TakaraTomy, Kotobukiya, etc. all advertise in the same building as people who sell kits just like this twice a year. I've never heard of any of the Wonderfest makers getting in trouble for it. It may also be seen as a positive for the company since, as long as you're making just add on parts and not reproducing their -actual- kits, you're actually encouraging the purchase of official products. People need to buy their kits from the company if they wanna use the parts, after all.
IIRC the company said making and selling Chrome Zoids was a 'service' and not a 'product,' so they didn't really care. This isn't exactly the same, but falls under the same general rules (must buy official products, get sparkly fan-made extra as benefit.)

As Hanyoutai mentioned I think I could sell CAS kits without falling into any legal issues as they would be original content made for existing model kits. I would definitely be interested in selling CAS kits. The only thing I'd have to figure out is reasonable. Resin is so expensive >.<. I can't imagine it would cost any more than the official CAS kits though. These however would be unpainted. I am pretty decent at airbrushing though so I might have some additional options for that.
Currently I've been so buried at work I've had no time for my projects.
I'll keep you guys updated as things develop.
