Which beam gatling kits would those be? Because if it's the one that goes on dark horn, they're bigger than the Pteras itself. By a decent amount. You'd probably need to get the ones from the Gun Sniper Rinon custom

Probably be cheaper to get Leena's Gunsniper and use it's gatling guns anyway. Looks like the other set is more expensive to get two.
I kind of like this variant of the Pteras. The standard Pteras strikes me as being a tad naked, the bomber seems like more of an air to ground specialist, and the Radome I think is really just a patrol unit that isn't really meant to be in an engagement. This dual gatling variant really looks more like it is built for a dogfight.

Even the gattling guns from the HMM Gunsniper Leena/Rinon are plenty big (long as Gunsniper is tall). However, I think the little gattling guns on Gunsniper's wrists will better be fit for Pteras.

It's hard telling from the picture linked, but the gats are supposed to be proportionately large to the Pteras. I'm not sure there are any exactly to scale. I hope you can find an answer, I'm not sure anyone has tried this yet. It's an excellent variation and would be a cool project, though!

I found the name for the variant too. The Silver Pteras. Hard to tell from the picture, and contrary to the name, but the cholor scheme is actually black not blue.

Anyone try the gattlings from the assault unit?

Ohh I see. Those look like either shortened versions of the more typical gatlings from the aforementioned kits, or maaaybe you could approximate them using the ones from the elephander gatling-missile CP Otherwise you're scratch building those, man

As long as one of the gatling guns from either set has about the right diameter I am sure modifying the length should be simple enough.

Looks like there was an HMM customize part made that takes care of the change in armor color. HMM CP-022 Here is a site with some pictures. www.gunjap.net/site/?p=20512

While this is true you're probably better off doing the painting yourself. This HMM CP goes up for auction only very rarely. It could be a long time before you find it, and even then, it will most likely only appear on Yahoo Japan, which means you'll have to go through a deputy service and a lot of extra fees.

That or have friends in Japan who can be on the lookout for me.
Though you are right paint is certainly much easier, though the CP kit would be guaranteed a perfect match to the right color.

A friend would definitely help, but would only save $10 service fee. They'd still have to pay the domestic and international shipping, bank fees, etc. Maybe not domestic shipping if they can find it in a shop. On a plus side, they aren't quite as expensive as I recalled them being. Last one sold on December 13th for 2799 Yen. It's the only one in Yahoo Japan's recent auction history, but there is one up for sale right now for 5000 yen. That's not terrible. You could maybe get a better deal if you didn't mind waiting a few months (sooner if you're lucky.) EDIT: OOps, ninja'd by Tich
