Long time no see! Looks like the reviewing of model kits have gone out of style here.
I'll fix that by reviewing Death Stinger! Mwhahaha!
Here the head, not quite done. Looking pretty creepy already.
Head with the helmet on.
Helmet and cockpit open, I used a white pilot figure because it stands out better than dark silver one came with Death Stinger.
Lots of details here. What is not visible is the control panel like Command Wolves have to keep those pesky pilot in place. The mandibles are poseable and if you look at the helmet closely, there little gun muzzles peeking out! (Granted, if I hasn't painted the little guns before putting them in, they would have hard to see.)
Body with zoid core.
Boy, putting all those rubber joints in for soon to be limbs was pain. I had difficulty getting body halves to close all the way.
Body with armor on.
Yes, Death Stinger's armor colors is pink and purple, I might paint purple parts to dark blue, but that is for later.
The belly of beast, tickle, tickle.
I have left panels open to show off the what I think is boosters? Death Stinger does have holes (three of them!) to put him on a flying stand.
Tail with lots of guns.
The main gun barrel do extends outward and I forgot to move panels on sides of the tail outward for this pic.
The bigger gun:
Front claws
Note the gun barrel showing on the claw on the left, talk about having an ace up your sleeve. Those claws looks like they can do lots of damage.
Rear claws
Looks pretty nifty with boosters.
The legs
*twitch* have to build EIGHT of them. The split toes are for balance I guess.
Note: all the silver and gold pieces are painted with metallic paint. They originally are the plastic color of silver and gold.
Ta Ta!
Looks pretty fierce, one of few zoids that looks deadly.
Firing the charged particle cannon.
from behind.
Firing claws cannons
If that is not enough, get enemy with claws.
Compared with the Tomy Death Stinger.
Looks a lot like in details, with HMM Death Stinger has bigger limbs and thinner body (perfect for a scorpion, not so much for cats). The biggest difference beside colors, is the gun on the back is much smaller.
I have enjoyed building HMM Death Stinger, the last time I enjoy building a new HMM zoid was basic Liger Zero. So far HMM Death Stinger appears to be very stable model, nothing pops off, nothing need glue, and balance is good for something eight legs. The only con I find is the front claws sometime wiggle loose out of the rubber sockets when posing the limbs, which I consider a minor complaint.
I believe it is time to go, please don't be afraid to leave comment.
