Nothing Spectacular here, just archiving this from ZP while I still can. I think it is the only post that I never got around to posting over here. Anyhow, this is just a simple official custom that nobody at the time had rationalized. It's an anti-air configuration for a command wolf using CP-18s and a Zoid part from Salamander. No Zoid modifications necessary. Everything just plugs on and goes.
This an official custom meaning that it uses all Zoid parts in a non-standard configuration.
Non-avian Zoids have always had a weak point from the aerial foes, but Darth Magnite, A Republic Technologist, sought to improve the capabilities of a surface to air tactical Zoid unit.
Having studied under Dr. Dee the 13th, Darth Magnite found inspiration in connecting the often overlooked CP-18 Impact Cannon on a far more robust and maneuverable Zoid--the legendary Command Wolf.
Dubbed Project Thunder Paw, Darth Magnite is refining and developing the tactical configurations of this unique prototype. The integration of unusual Zoid Systems has presented quite a challenge to complete.
The coupling component between the Zoid and Weapons systems has been achieved by gutting the interior of a Salamander Rear Missile Command Pod. The framework and mounting points proved to be a suitable housing for connecting three CP-18s in place of the missile launchers. Darth Magnite has implanted and integrated a series of targeting computers and smart logic control array within the reworked gunner pod.
With merely the flip of a switch, a command wolf pilot can deploy the CP-18s into an Impact Cannon array that can easily disable, or even render flighless, an avian target within an entire hemisphere of air space.
Not since the infamous Liger Panzer Unit has a terrestrial bound Zoid had a strong and versatile surface unit for a ground to air combat situation. Of course, the Helic Republic is greatly interested in Project Thunder Paw, for it's lucrative use on the border outposts, which are often weak if not completely incapable of handling a mercenary in an avian Zoid.
The Guylos empire is interested in this work as well and has allowed the Republic access to the latest in tracking computer equipment. Project Thunder Paw is well under way with testing. An official Prototype is expected for demonstration to the Helic and Guylos Upper Military Personnel, as well as the Helic President and the Ruling Family of Guylos, sometime in the near future.
Darth Magnite was unable to comment on a specific date for the unveiling of the first fully functional prototype Thunder Paw. He stated that he simply had too many performance tests to define and document regarding the integrated technologies.
