Hi, I am new here. To be honest, I am not really a member of the Zoids community. I watched both series that aired on toonami in their entirety as a kid. Loved the first, second was ok. I never owned any figures or models until now.
Today I was out, and I ran across a 4 piece lot of Ligers. The two that I am curious about are 2 blade ligers, a chrome blue and chrome gold. From about an hours worth of research, I have gathered that they were limited to 100 kits each. Correct me if I am wrong
Can anyone tell me more? When and where were they released? Why were they released, was it a contest? What would an appraisal estimate be, not interested in selling, at least not at the moment, just curious if I made a good buy.
Thanks in advance for any information.

The last time the blue sold, it sold for about $390 before fees if I'm not mistaken. Haven't seen the gold sell in a LONG time. I would estimate between $350-$1000. The silver tends to sell for around the $300 mark. I would not be surprised if Blue or Gold went for more, since they are rare.
It honestly just depends on who has how much spending money during the week they're selling. There's a huge discrepancy in price with some of these older limited chrome Zoids.
I'm curious what else was in the lot and how much it was purchased for?

holy cow are you serious? I had no idea...Another piece i believe to be rare is this Liger Blue Souga resin kit, "custom parts + 1/72 midori", any info on it? the 4th piece, i see listed on on eBay currently for around $100, shopro zfc009 blade liger one of the upper fangs for the chrome ligers is broken, but it is still there, i believe them to be complete. I will install batteries tomorrow. the souga is unassembled and unpainted, i will inventory pieces tomorrow as well.

The Ebay Shopro Vinyl Figure is horribly overpriced. I wouldn't expect to get more than $20-$40 for it, especially considering the head appears to have suffered sun damage. It is not overly common on the US market but is not hard to obtain.
The Souga could probably go for $80-$150. Maybe a bit more on the US market? Most of the ones I see priced low are on Yahoo Japan. On a site like Ebay, it may be worth more.
Wow, those look like the genuine article, though. You are very lucky to have found them. I do not think the fang would bring the value down too much, since theoretically you could replace with any other metal toothed Bladey. It is an easy fix, for such a rare kit.

I really appreciate the info, do you know anything about the release of the chromes? I picked these up at a place called Unclaimed Baggage in Scottsboro, AL, its a pretty neat place and has been featured on several travel shows. Pretty much their inventory comes from...unclaimed baggage and lost luggage. They have the original Hoggle puppet from the Labyrinth on display that they found in a suit case and had restored.
Fairly large store, I live an hour and half from it, and theres not really anything else in that town, so its a once-twice a year stop for me. They have a second smaller building that they use for their "last chance" items, that have been sitting around untouched for a while. I found the souga and the shopro first and thought they were neat. I saw the chromes, but the monochromatic style through me off, i thought it may be some Chinese knockoff. right before i left, i decided to check them out closer. They were in pieces in 2 Japanese ziploc bags, When i saw the Tomy name, i grabbed them. I collect and trade toys alot, and I have come to know that Tomy is a name you always take a chance on, and if its an import, even better.
All said and done, I spent $21.46 with tax, and estimated the 4 pieces to be worth around $30 each...so you have been a very pleasant surprise

Mandarake is offering 25000 yen for the blue Bladey and 30000 yen for the gold one - those are MIB prices, but Mandarake's offers tend to be on the low side (such as 8000 for a blue Seismo)... According to the recently-vanished Zi-Matrices, the gold one was a prize from a magazine contest ("Zoids Audition"), while the blue one was a prize for buyers of the book Zoids Battle World, and both were indeed limited to 100 kits. Nice find!

Someone else on this forum thinks that the package you purchased was theirs that the post office lost. I think they would really appreciate it if there was any way you would work with them on making a deal on the items to get them back to the rightful owner.

I have talked to him, and explained that once the auction ends Wednesday night, if there is no winner, it will be his. The offers was more than fair. I just want to see how the auctions go first.

I went back today looking for a Chrome geno saurer that the fellow on the other thread told me went missing as well. No luck but I did find a silver chrome blade liger, who is now listed on eBay. If I don't have any luck there, Tayranno has first dibs. After that offers are welcome. PayPal transactions only. The link for the silver is at the end f this post. I also found a revoltech geno breaker, doesn't seem to be as sought after, and he was honestly more than I will be able sell for, it was just really cool, and I did good on the others I hated to leave it. I really hate that I did not find the geno saurer, because if these are the ones Tayranno lost, then either the store has not put it out yet, or there is a little kid some where chewing and playing with a really rare zoid m.ebay.com/itm/141713100259?nav=SELLING_ACTIVE

Yup those are also from my package. I can't believe the damage these models sustained from the postal service... They were in perfect condition before they were shipped. I truly hope whoever got the gold Geno Saurer appreciates it and takes care of it... If you do ever end up finding it, let me know. At this point, I'm only after the gold Bladey, so anyone who wants the other Ligers, go for it. I sent you a message on Ebay, but I'd appreciate it if we can work something out for the gold Liger and end the auction early. I know you said you didn't want to do that but it was a pretty stressful ordeal when my package went missing and I'd rather not worry about other potential bidders (who aren't on this forum, I trust you guys ). Especially while I'm on vacation with spotty internet access. You're benefiting quite a bit from my loss so if you'd be willing to do me this favor I'd be incredibly grateful!

Was somewhat tempted to bid on these, but I think I will wait until they pop up again some other time. Best of luck Tayranno!

Thanks Xow! I'm going after only the Gold Blade Liger, so if you want the others have at them!
