Yeah, I have low battle rating and my only Zoid worth anything is my Black Saber Tiger roughly lvl95-ish. I remember reading your post earlier about the horrible pvp and have been trying to take advantage of high xp events, but I still have a long way to go to have more worthwhile Zoids. I'll start trying to spread some of the love around and get more than one Zoid that has a decent stat listing.
If you just ... don't use the battle thing- to increase your score, does that make a difference? Should I avoid it until I have more high ranking Zoids?

As a little tip, don't bother building up a zoid which does not have a gold star rating in the end and strong defense build for defending. With other words only the "special" zoids from roulette events are worth putting up for defending. All others are wasted even at max level easily because "special" zoids have ridiculously high stats (for example over 100 defense while regular zoids max out at 30 or so). Balancing really is horribly in favor of PTW (pay-to-win).
Now if you have low battle points keep it at that. at 200+ battle points lower than your score you get nearly no point anymore. So people 200+ points above you won't bother you since it would mean wasting 3k energy for 1 battle point which is stupid if you can get up to 80 by doing it right. Furthermore tons of people are at lower levels so the chance somebody drops on you while searching for random battles is unlikely.

Are you able to maybe name a couple of zoids worth building up for time poor people like me who are still early on in the game to save me wasting more precious time? I have currently been building up that three zero shield liger.

All zoids leading to a gold-star rating or at least silver star. Bronze or below doesn't get you far. This means special event only roulette zoids. When you get one in roulette look in the upgrade char on the far right if it ends with a gold or silver star. Special Iron-Kong seems ridiculously overpowered but I never got one so I can't confirm. So from what I see special Iron Kong, Black Horn, Red Sabre, special panda bear thingy, special tiger thingy. These all have gold-rating final forms which can go up to lv200 and stats where you can pack 5 times or more regular zoids in.

I also wanna say thanks for the info. I'll try focusing more on these Zoids. How much should max level factor in? Like not bother with anything below 150?
Also, anyone got any idea how high lvl you have to be to start playing Cloud Ocean? At almost lvl 100 still can't get past the first island.

Level seems not to be that much of a factor than star rating since they get ridiculous stat boost from lv1 on.
EDIT: Did a quick check-up. They have jumbled around the stats a lot again since the last time I checked. silver and gold are less ahead that the used to be and level cap differences are smaller too. A regular bronze sabre goes up to 160 while the gold one goes up to 180. At least stats wise it seems less worse than it used to be. But I still have the impression silver/gold gets a boost not visible from the stats just like that. But with the constant jumbling around of the stats I'm not sure anymore what boosts/nerfing is still in effect. I guess gold/silver gives you for sure the best you can but the advantage seems smaller as it used to be. But who knows... hidden stats are always funny.

Oh man, I really need to play this more D: I'm still using a level 50 Shieldy...
For this weekend's event (27/2~28/2), we have a Molga attack with Saber Tigers as participation rewards, and the Roulette (27/2 to 4/3) contains White Shieldy, IK Snowflake and White Tiger Aqua.

Thanks for the heads up! Don't have a single one of those Zoids so I'm gonna try to snag some more ZG before then.

I'm starting to take a closer look at how stats are set up nowadays, so I can make more informed decisions about who to work on. I noticed that there's no longer a second page for stats. This second page used to include the following stats: Firing Range, Fuel Consumption, Required SP, etc. Was this page simply removed? Or is there another way to access it that I'm not seeing? This is more-or-less what I got for the stats on the image above. Machine Name: Command Wolf Model: White Type: Twin Rail Gun Level: 1 / Max 200 To Next Level: 1 HP: 1965 >>> 2670 Maximum Speed: 105 >>> 103 Attack Power:--- Close Proximity: 226 >>> 302--- Shooting: 226 >>> 302Defense: 10 >>> 0 (... you poor thing-) Special Ability: Thunder Bolt lv4 I'm assuming special lvls are static? This screenshot is from a 0xp Command Wolf. I also notice that when you have access to the Cloud, that there's a flashing thunderbolt icon over the Zoids Shop. Does this mean anything? Is there some advantage in using the shops when you're connected to the cloud? (Though I still cannot access energy/gold purchases...) Annnnd last question. You can get Zoidnium (the hourglass looking one) from EXP Week Event 3 (or whichever has a 5000 energy requirement.) Do any other weekly events have items like this? I know the Rednium/Greennium/etc. Up events have a higher chance of dropping ores but I haven't seen any refined materials from them yet. Sorry for so many long posts and questions, I'm trying to get back into a spot where I can update my info pages about this game. I have a lot to relearn.

I think the reduced the number of stats since these had no real useful effect. Things are now down to attach (range, contact), defense and speed.
Speed is kinda useless now since it varies in a small range (so where before you could go like to 5th gear you can now switch to 2th gear at max) and is more or less similar across zoids (although it varies by zoid but stays rather fixed for each zoid). Weapon range is now implicit to the weapon used and not written out anymore (you have to guess what you get with each weapon).
Defense seems to have a larger impact on island-defending zoids but on attack missions it seems to have no effect. It's really difficult to say with them constantly changing everything left and right. But defense raises with level depending on the build. Regular zoids seem to have between 15-25 defense around level 100 while stuff like a black horn can go up to 80+ defense.
What's the deal with speciality level I don't know.
The hour-glass I've seen so far only from the event you mentioned. Drop rates are anyways way to small to do anything without events which is quite annoying and defying the purpose of making a game in the first place.
What goes for Cloud stuff I know nothing since you can't connect there anyways.

Ouch, I just took a look at the Jager-booster ones. You're right, speed was just slaughtered. They don't even leave the ranks of 'basic machine' anymore. Ah, well, glad I got to see the Super!Zoom while it lasted. A shame they removed the stats from the list (especially for those that are still in effect, gameplay wise.)
Since my last post I took a chance at the Red Week Event, and it seems the Crystals also drop from these. Only from the 7500 energy one, though. Still, with a chance to get 2 per run, it makes obtaining almost any Zoid in the game quite easy. Spend one day playing the event and have enough for several evos.
The most obnoxious thing to obtain is the Battlenium. I just want enough to finish boosting my Command Wolf up to its final gold stage but ehhhhh. Really nervous of poking the bear. So far haven't encountered an island boss that I can't defeat, but they're getting slowly more obnoxious.
Managed to beat Ymir/1st Cloud Island level finally, at about level 100 with a 2nd-to-last stage Black Saber. I'm using the Cloud Viewer app mentioned a few pages earlier to play, but you need two devices for it.

Well... they did it again... If you ever wanted a totally "pink" Shieldy then now is your chance... in Roulette (in the next days I guess). Poor shieldy... who said again shieldy is always getting a beating with color schemas sooner or later?

If I'm not mistaken you also have a chance to get it from an event, but only if you're in the top 10. Which basically requires you to sell your soul.
Event: 1~10: Shield Liger Pink, (and 3連衡撃砲 1? Not sure what this is. Might be a specific evolution.) 11~50: Zoidgold x50, Zoidnium Ore x120, Zoidnium Ball x30 51~100: Zoidgold x50, Zoidnium Ore x100, Zoidnium Ball x20 101~500: Zoidgold x50, Zoidnium Ore x80, Zoidnium Ball x15 501~###: Zoidgold x50, Zoidnium Ore x50, Zoidnium Ball x10
Roulette: - Command Wolf - Gustav - Helcat - Pandos Krieger - Saber Tiger - Shield Liger Pink - Shield Liger RZ-007 - White Tiger
Got a Helcat and Command Wolf, but at least I wanted a green Command Wolf. Hopefully better luck next time~ Got the Aqua Tiger from the last roulette.
Ramble Time: Cloud Ocean has turned out easier than I originally expected. I got roadblocked at level 95, but a day in the exp event boosted my White Command Wolf Twin-RGC up to 115. It's not impossible to die but I've also been able to just blitzkrieg the levels and clear all but the very last island (for lack of energy, will probably clear it tonight.)
The opponents really aren't that different in assortment, just in the damage output. I suspect a high def Zoid might be useful here buuuut since I have none. These levels make ores more or less useless. There are 3-5 locations /per level/ that have 4-5 ore boxes. Like 5 Bluenium boxes all /right there/. This boosts your chance to obtain bluenium up to around 6-7 per run, with a potential (if you were insanely lucky) of like, 15-20. I didn't slow down to collect big on these because the events already make them easy enough to obtain, but if you're ever in a pinch it could be useful. The boxes, if I'm not mistaken also occasionally drop the Crystals.
