Still, the DS is a really nice looking kit... much more details can be seen in the closeup shots. Yes, it looks a bit thick, but it's supposed to be Deathsaurer sized! A little beef is fine by me. What stands out to me is the caps sticking out on the legs (and I do wish they had made them a tad smaller, but it is close to the toy proportions). The inner head looks pretty cool, and I like the bigger claws, but another tail segment would not go amiss. Looks like it uses a pair of acrylic rods for support, so it isn't really placing all the weight on the legs. All in all, not a bad looking rig, and at almost 18" long, not a small one, either!

I usually forego the Kotobukiya Direct orders since they just aren't different enough, but I think this is a really nice change. Definitely worth the raise in cost, to me. That may just be because I'm a sucker for miniatures, though.
Seems to include:
- Anime Accurate Armor Color
- Optional gold and silver plated parts
- Hiltz (Standing and Sitting), Ambient*
- Miniature 5cm Blade Liger
IIRC the Psycho Geno didn't include the sitting version of Hiltz but I could be wrong. I also believe the plated parts are painted? Plated is usually used for chrome level shiny but they seemed to be painted in the pictures (referring to things like the ring around the tail, etc.)

The price for the standard release seems reasonable, I was expecting around 12 000, 14 000 is still a long way from where Gojulas was priced and the kind of discounts you get from Amiami and HLJ will be nice.
I agree with Han, the chrome looks painted in the same way the recent MG Hyaku Shiki 2.0 is.

Oh wow.. that's interesting, will the anime one not say 1/65 scale on it, but actually say some other scale so that it's "the enlarged anime version" ? Probably not if it has a normal sized hilz and ambient figure. the mini liger will just be for funsies
So that's all the organoids with their own miniatures now isn't it? the psycho geno came with specular?
also i don't know what anyone's talking about with alternate gold parts, I don't see pictures of those at all
This is still disappointing to me because of the narrow, elongated, protruding head but... wow! Who would have thought we'd get these kits?

Maybe someone can help me out here. I've never ordered from Kotobukiya site before and was under the impression they didn't ship to the states. Amiami.com has the new color deathstinger but not the anime one so I'm guessing that's a site exclusive. How do I go about ordering that?

Only reason I can think of that they don't list a scale for the anime color one is because the included miniature blade liger isn't in scale. |

They just place the order through Koto for you and you pay for it through whatever proxy site you're using. I already have my order placed through fromjapan. |
