Does anyone know how to get in touch with Phenotype? ;^;
I'd really like to offer my help with keeping the forum active and alive, but the email provided in their profile isn't working..

Not certain these days, actually. I do miss the old days of contests and new releases. I think it gets harder to keep a forum up as the kits become rarer and more expensive. For me it's a matter of time and lack of funds to participate, but I'm working on that.

Yeah I have a lot of experience with admin and moderator powers on forums, so i was hoping i could be helpful on here. . . And it seems like the other forum zoidspoison doesn't have an active owner either? What a shameeeeee ;^;

And Liemzoids at ZP is a doctor with a pretty hefty schedule, but he shows up sometimes.

So another question. Would it be rude, or out of place for me to make another forum with the intention of bringing a lot of the traffic from both of these forums to it? I've been holding off because I don't want to step on any toes... But since both forums are relatively disfunctional, I wonder if it wouldn't be more helpful to go ahead and start a new more active forum?

Well, I think it depends on the point of the forum. If I ran a forum solely for the point of modeling techniques and galleries I wouldn't think it an issue... though forums usually take their own direction after a while. If you have stuff you have in mind that could contribute to an existing community, that could be great, too. However, I can see how you would want to focus your efforts on a single forum and would have to decide where to set up shop (and to see if it fit your chosen community). Finally, the question might be, how do you plan to start an active forum from scratch? The most activity I have seen on any Zoids forum has been due to:
1) A strong and steady media presence for the line (cartoon dies, fandom dies) 2) A succession of fun and involving contests (even if people don't participate, they love to chat about it) 3) A huge relaunche campaign (but this is usually just a surge)
There are factors, too, that tend to supress a forum's activity:
1) The Economy (it's only fun to talk about what you can't afford for so long) 2) Matriculation! (A big word meaning, Maethius was a pretty awesome up-and-comer modeler and collector, then he got married, had kids, and lost all of his time and resources!)
Just some food for thought.

I made a forum once.
There were two people on it.

Well I will put it this way. My main priority is to be as active as possible on here to attract more posts and more traffic! I just wish the owner was about so I could be more useful technically, and administratively to really bring it back to life. I'm sort of a stay-at-home wife, so I have all kinds of free time, maybe too much.

My wife is stay at home, but free time is a distant dream (we have a 6 year old girl in 1st grade, a VERY high maintenance 3 year old boy, and a 4 month old boy who seems to only know how to look at things with incredible amounts of aw and then give huge smiles and giggles).
For years I have wanted to actually sponsor a number of building contests but for now it's beyond my scope. Heck, I might be able to participate in them after I'm done with this commission piece I've got going on right now.

If you wish to make a board, I'd certainly go for it, but I don't think English-speaking Zoids forums have much more potential for life than Phenos or ZP. At least in the long term. Most discussion is geared around news, which both sites already discuss.
I've never seen a Zoids forum maintain, say, an active Zoids video games board. Usually new model kits are the only major topic of discussion and administrative activity likely won't change that. The forum may be active for a few days, or even weeks, but will inevitably end up the same, which would ultimately make it redundant.
When and if you plan to make a new board I would do some planning and scheduling to figure out new topics or events to introduce to keep new discussion regularly flowing into the forum. It still may only last so long.
