So I'm moving this from another post to here as it seems more appropriate place to put it. So basically what I am doing is taking the HMM Zeke that comes with the Van/Bang versions of the blade and shield liger and I am going to try to make him as posable as possible. To do this I had to disassemble him without ripping any plastic so that I can get a mold built and subsequently make some resin copies to work with. here are some pics. First up, the disassembles Zeke: Now the start of the two part mold: You see all the twists and turns of what will be the sprues. I've found that when working with resin. (less shaking it to death) Once I get some copies I will start working on it and toss up more pics! Stay tuned!! -Illandrasen

Pretty cool. Keep us posted. i can't wait to see how these resin replicas turn out.

Its great to see how you are puting it all together; I want to work a bit with resin casting but haven't taken the plunge yet.

a posable Sieg would be great! i always loved his design and wished they'd do a larger 'action figure' version.. but he's a bit TOO organic so most of his joints wouldnt work well irl unless he was made of something flexible

I mean zeke, as an organoid, has anatomy that is a lot different from traditional zoids so the joints that he has are going to be more fluid. Here is what I've been planing to use for those instances. in this case his tail. It may be hard to see but these joints and not hard fitting. In other words the joints don't snap together rather they are held close together via the internal wire, the narrow dotted tube you see in the design drawing above. This wire will act very similar to the way our tendons work. They will allow for flexibility while restricting the joints from becoming dislocated. I'll draw it up in CAD when I have the time but this is the basic idea. Thoughts? Suggestions?

So thanks to Snowflake I got to thinking about flexibility some more and so I started playing around with the resin ratio to get something that is actually flexible. I finally found that a 1.5:1 ratio of resin:hardener is exactly what I was looking for. Here are the results. I'm still testing to see if it becomes brittle after a few days but until I find ou that it fails I am going to use this flexible resin ratio to cast the tail, mid torso and neck while casting the other parts in the normal hardness resin. Wire will still be used as a core so that the model will retain its pose. Thanks Snowflake. I owe you the inspiration points haha.

Oh man I'm excited to see the end result, you could build a whole army of Zekes *must learn how to use resin and do that to build custom organoids....* Posy Zeke will look great, can't wait to see it and he's looking.. well flexible atm xD

Yea! I'm already dreaming up a diorama of him wrapped around a zoids core!

So the ratio'd resin stays soft for a few hours but eventually cures hard and extremely brittle. So I'm ordering done flexible resin that will be exactly what inn looking for. So basically all the purple and brownish you see in the image below plus all of the tail and minus the arms will be cast in the flexible resin. So while this resin is on order I've seen messing with done scraps to test out gimmick ideas. Here is one that will be in the final product. So now you have an idea of the level of detail I'm going for. -Illandrasen

So jointed arms/legs, flexi tail and moving mouth? Yes! I always missed the pvc Zeke sales and now price gougers are having their fun. I like yours more. I wonder if you could make a bigger one.

So yes in all a flexible tail, flexi-joints in the abdomen, neck, and hip joint. Hard joints in the knees, elbows, and jaw, (maybe his toes too if I can design it right). This should give him flexibility enough to where his tail can touch his nose and he can kinda wrap around a zoid core. Makes me excited to see it all written out in one place haha.

Wow man. You gonna make multiple copies? I'd really like to buy one off of you at whatever price you feel is fair and profitable to the time and effort that you are putting into the finished product. That really is a little piece of art and ingenuity that you got going on there. I gotta have one...
