This may also go down as the "what to do with a dead motor" thread. This has probably been done before. But I just got my first zoids last month. Including a Liger Zero X with a bad case of battery leakage in the motor. While I was satisfied with cleaning and fixing the other zoids. I thought something could be done about the motor. Since I work at a toystore I looked around and found a remote plane with a cord. Took the whole thing apart. Soldered wires here and there. And alakazam........... I now have a remote control Liger Zero X!!!. He even walks backwards and has gunfire sounds. I even have some wires left so I can put a led light in the cockpit. But that's the next thing I'll try. Let me know what you think.

Sounds pretty cool. We'd love to see a video of the piece in action.

I might try it this weekend. I have no idea how. But seeing all the youtube stuff I must be able to do something. I mean if I'm able to make a remote Liger Zero x. How hard can that be....

Too bad it's not a regular liger zero, so the red light would actually show through its eyes... either way AWESOME!

Using a clear led would do the trick. My regular Liger zero didn't need to be fixed. Maybe if I get some more zoids I might try a cordless one. Basically what you do with the remote control with cord is making it possible for the motor to get power. Since the battery leakage ruined the contacts. Why not make it external. That's how I came about doing this. The remote plane I used had leds in it. So it made me think you could use that to put one in the cockpit since the eyes are transparant.
I'm going to try and make a video in a sec. I will post the link to youtube when I've succeeded.

Okay people. I've put 2 videos on youtube. With all the figuring out how to and a camera where the sound stops after a couple of seconds. I've finally done it. I might redo it since the quality is not very good. But after three times of trying I wanted to break the camera. I know it's not it's fault. But I got p@#$#% off.
I don't know how long it will take for you to see. Description is "Remote control Liger Zero X" and the other with 2 in the end. Made by Quaas666. Hope you will enjoy it and/or have any suggestion on how to make a decent video.

That's pretty amazing! Your accent is awesome, what is that, Dutch? Your Zero X has a floppy gun too! I thought I was the only one.. It's funny, in the US at least, we pronounce solder as 'sahder' for (as far as I know) no good reason..

Yes, I am Dutch. Normally I speak more fluently but I got tired of the video not working. I wanted to explain some more about how to do it. Maybe when I feel like it I'll make a new one. Glad you liked it.
My gun didn't used to be floppy. Hahaha. Just noticed I was fiddling with it during the video. I was happier with the fact that the legs didn't come of while walking. Another take and I would have a broken zoid again....
I actually wasn't sure what English for soldering was. Thought it was what I said.

Outside of North America, most people pronounce the L in 'solder'. It took me a while to realise why so many people online were terrible at spelling the word.
