I was wondering if you could make new stickers somehow to replace ones that typically start to peel. I was thinking you could use a scanner or something. SO can someone tell me how to make back-ups if there is a way.

Darwock on ZP makes replica sticker sheets. I think he uses an auto CAD and a special printer.

Yep. He has a special printer that can print in solid colors (required for doing Zoid labels) on decal paper. These are water-slide decals, though, not stickers. There was a service that did make custom stickers out there... I used them before they stopped taking custom files. Do a Google for them, and you might find a company still doing it. It's a bit pricey, though.

thanks for the information. i'm gonna look into it. i just want back-up sticker sheets for my models so if they start peeling after a while i won't die a little on the inside.

Uhm Uhm *feels slightly insecure for being a total noob* Well I dont know this might sound kinda stoopid but u could perhaps scan the peeled stickers, then print them again on this funny paper u use to do stickers. I did that with a friend's customized Gundam she asked me to restaurate.

I've done similar... my first custom "stickers" were printed on my Epson printer, sprayed with Krylon's Preserve It! (a matte clear coat) to protect them, and glued in place using Aileen's Tacky Glue. Then I graduated to custom printed water slide decals. However, if you are looking to reproduce the actual labels it's s different matter. I thought I had one company bookmarked, but I'll have to dig a little to find them again.

thats sounds like it would work well. i was also wondering if there is anywhere on the forum or something where there are scans of existing sticker sheets. if not, i feel that there should be one on the site so people can place stickers on older models or use them for customs.

Not here, but at Zoids Poison there is a scan forum. If you put in a request there, someone might be able to post it for you.

Thanks for the heads up Maethius, i don't need sticker scans, but i have some on my computer and thought if it would be helpful to put them somewhere on the forum.

Oooh so true it could be a permanent topic BTW I discovered something interesting, when u cover the stickers with a coat of transparent nail polish they stay on longer! Again Gundam restauration... it won a contest :3! But I dont have photos DX! And yep I'm gonna keep defending nail polish to the end lol!

I use Krylon "Preserve It!" - an artwork clear coat spray. Works great, and no glossy sheen.

You can often get clearcoat in larger bottles (or you can with Vallejo's acrylic stuff, which I've been using on some smaller stuff lately), it shouldn't be that spendy for how long it lasts. If you can't find it where you are, the shipping can be a pain, though, especially places that are all "we only ship flat rate, lol 8-10 USD to ship two small items". LOOKING AT YOU, Dick Blick >_>.
Oh, for pete's sake, board. Dick Blick is a store name, don't censor it.

It isn't too pricey, really. You don't have to coat an entire sheet or model. HOWEVER!!!! When I printed my own decals on Testor's decal paper, I gave the sheet 3 coats to make sure it was strong. There's enough in the can to give 3 coats to probably 8 to 10 full sized sheets of paper... if you have that many custom labels, you have a LOT. LOL! Love the censor feature.
