OK boys and girls, I've been away for a while, but plan to post here even if I don't build anything. However, I notice a number of members have been logging in, loitering, but not posting. So here is the Official Excuses thread ! 1: What was the last bit of Zoiding you did ? 2: And why have you not been doing more / posting on the forum ? Me ? I spent two hours in the loft, looking for a HMM Saber Tiger Schwaltz which I am certain I own but cannot find. Not been building much as my inflatable bed has a puncture and Mrs zed has dictated I have to re-build ALL my son's Lego sets before I can start a new Zoid. He has about 60 set in about 10,000 pieces ... zed

1: Assembling parts for my ZPCC:2011 custom, last night at 11:00
2: Working full time, helping a friend move, celebrating a 4-generation Mothers' Day, keeping up the new house, being sick with something new every month, my kids alternating being sick with something new every month, a low back injury, my wife's exacerbated past low back injury, trying to fix the van's mirror, supporting my father's civil service work, maintaining a relationship with my family....

Argh, ya got me.... I'll answer your questions.
1. The last bit of Zoiding I did was.... actually a good while ago. Last month when I bought those Weida bootlegs and reviewed them. I've actually held off on Zoids for a while since I just got a bunch of OERs coming in, but in the meantime I've been keeping busy with the Gundam models I accumulated over the past few months.
2. About the same as Maethius. Work, school, sickness, AND I have recently moved and am working on unpacking. Also, its a bit tricky posting replies using my phone. But I plan on posting more once we finally get the internet up and running.

I'm starting to see a theme here. I moved house about 2 weeks ago. The kids have their beds but me and the Missus don't, so we borrowed an inflatable bed, which got a puncture last Friday. After extracating myself from it, I nearly caused myself a lower back injury by trying to sit on the bed to put my socks on.
I guess we don't need to ask what KAndrew was doing nine months ago, and can gloat that he'll be changing nappies instead of Zoiding for the next year or two ! Stinky !

Changing nappies for a week or two? Can you tell me your potty training secrets, because our last one refused to use the potty until she was 3 and a half! >.<

Does encoding videos count? Especially if I'm trying to sub them?
That and art.
I haven't been posting here because it's deadish and I'm having a bit of a frustration/disconnect with a lot of fandom. The current popular fannishness in it is not my kind of fannish. I'm a thinky character-driven writer with occasional art these days, and unless we're talking comic!FMA, thinky character-driven doesn't overlap much with shounen.
That and real life hates my guts. No children here, though :3.

Ya know, it must be an epidemic. Every one of my friends/coworkers have had to move in the past six to eight months.
As for me making posts on here, there are threads here I REALLY mean to post on, it's just that I am distracted quite easily. I'll go to post something and think, "Well, it'll take me a while to type this post up, so I'll go check my email/eBay/etc. and I'll forget to come back and post. Or I'm distracted by real-life stuff, like food, story plots that probably won't ever see the light of day, an exicting/funny action/comedy scene from the graphic novel I plan on writing/drawing, or I get up to stretch my legs and Gungy screams "DUST ME OR DIE!!!!"
EDIT: I've also noticed this also applies to whenever I want to post/make a reply on ZoidsPoison. Speaking of which, I STILL need to edit my parts list for sale/trade from that OER lot that came in the mail the other day......

1. about two months ago, I started a custom zoid pair, intent on using as few actual zoid components as possible. I have run into an issue that's ground me to a halt.
2. Finances have been a mild issue, but mostly my lack of concern for a lot of the Kotos has cooled my shopping. I was, am, and always will be a sniper specialist. I have the three Gun Snipers, so until they anounce a Snipe Master or Konig wolf kit, I'm done on HMM.

I jointed my liger zero a few weeks ago. My budgets tight so I haven't bought a new zoid in a while. @ zed: you should make a Lego zoid out of the pieces.

1. Last Zoid I built was the HMM Cannon Tortoise 2. How's this for an excuse? We moved 2,200 miles from Ohio to California because my wife got a new job, and on July 5th I start a new job.

1. Trying to learn everything Zoids since I got a bunch of them last month. Trying to figure out why I didn't buy them 25 + years ago. Trying to find missing parts. Too many ideas. Maybe make one remote control using one of those walking doggies motors?
2. I have been posting since I'm new here. I have had replies. Just waiting for new ones.

1: What was the last bit of Zoiding you did ? 2: And why have you not been doing more / posting on the forum ? 1: HMM Lightning Saix. No excuse to not pick one up. 2: Economy, work, school, other hobbies. Purchasing Zoids isn't on the top of my things-to-buy-with-spending-money at all anymore. I follow the releases consistently however and love the HMM line. I wish I could splurge on more kits. I'll probably pick up Jager this year though.

Guess I'm due another one of these, as I've been absent from the board.... 1. Graphics Malder. Nowhere near as good as an OER (and nowhere near as cheap) but it's nice to have a complete one. 2. I've been trying to un-Google myself. The company's really dropped the ball lately in regards to customer service... Also, I've been getting back into drawing and playing around with digital art. Some Zoids-related art in the future, maybe?
