I am working on currently, customizing a Lanstag as a long range unit. Right now, I am waiting on for more of the cannons to come in and such, but I am trying to decide whether I want it to be a heavy-artillery bound unit, or a light weight-light armored sniper.
Idea behind it originally was the light-weight, fast moving sniper, so it could climb to better vantage point, take the shot, then start moving again. This may still happen, but at the moment I bought the Gojulas cannons, that changed.
The current idea, is to use Several Zoids armor as well as maybe sacrifice a gundam to beef up the armor, and give it both cannons, mounted on the rear legs, with some sort of other arsenal mounted on the front legs, and just make a heavy-artillery-bombardment zoid, though , this would reduce the overall speed.
More on this later..after I think exactly what I want to do/when parts come in..

when I think of lanstag, I don't think of a heavy gunner (legs are too spindly) or a sniper (body's too heavy) .. I realize those are silly reasons, but zoids tend to run on logic like that. What I think of is a dependable footsoldier with an M-16 equivalent.. and I don't think there are any zoids whose main gimmick is run n' gun repeater action. Your idea sounds great

Thanks. Yah, now ya making me think of a Run-and Gun Zoid..>.> I don't know, maybe I'll make some changes. Depends on the parts I get in and such and how they look. Also, need to buy some other cheap toys to sacrifice to my customs.

Thrift store toys and models make up a good portion of my parts bins... I would love to see a Lanstag upgraded for range, but I agree it would seem more appropriate as a lighter weapon platform. Then again, it all depends on how the parts come together!

I am looking into building it a little lighter now, messing around with some other weapons. I may have to the dollar stores in the area for more sacrificial parts

nice guns there chuckles i know id hate to be the one on the wrong side of that over gunned beast .. but i wonder bad the recoil is ha ha .. as for the gunstag i think id only go for a long range sniper with anti detection radar etc .. maybe smoke bombs on the legs

Going threw a few designs right now with it, playing around with seeing if I can't equip a large machinegun, probably with chains or belts feeding back to ammo cases on the rear legs with the anglers being redsigned to be somewhat like armor, to block incoming fire while it charges and shoots.

I vote for a sniper mod. There simply are not enough sniper zoids out there, and people tend to dismiss their effectiveness.

The Stag would be a great platform for a sniper... fast, agile, and light. If you go with sniper, maybe the antlers could be redesigned as some kind of ECM screen to help hide the Stag while it lines up the shot. Remember that the life of a sniper is exceptionally short once they take a shot, so having one with stealth built in is a must.

Working on it, I built a gun out of parts for the Leogator that actually looks pretty decent on it. It could pass as either a sniper rifle or a Assault Rifle, though I may go looking for a few more pieces later in the week. If i find a better looking sniper rifle and parts to make an EcM equipment, I may go with that.
