I am planning on painting a geno breaker pack in the color of the genosaurer. I would prefer not to paint the genosaurer itself. I was wondering, what color spraypaint would closely match the color of the saurer? I was going to paint 2 cps to test the colors out. any suggestions?

Remember to either use an undercoat or account for the influence of the red. the most opaque-seeming paint can show the color of what it's painted on, consarnit

This is why most customizers use a primer coat first. Depending on what final colors you want, you can use a white primer, a common neutral gray primer, or what I have done a few times, a flat black undercoat. I found that using black worked very well for darker tones and even helped with panel lining details later on. However, don't rush it! Give your primer coat at least a full day to dry, even though it says on the can that you can paint over it in 30 minutes.

i was actually thinking of doing the flat as a top coat because i thought that might be the closest to the genosaurers black. i'm not sure though. i'll probably do 2 coats. unless you know of a better color.

Could also do a flat black base coat then dust the whole finished, labeled model with Krylon Preserve It! It's a matte finish acrylic top coat that protects from scratches but it actually has a slight sheen to it (like eggshell house paint)
