Well. I had a blast, these past five years. Lots of discussions. Comings and goings of new lines... custom contests (I still don't think I really deserved my second place in that contest... looking back, my Hello Fuhrer wasn't very well painted...), all you guys' customs...
And while, lately, I have been more active, bringing news by as I found it, I just found myself having less and less of a reason to hang around. The forum's mostly dead aside from a few remaining regulars...
While my interest in zoids hasn't waned at all, and Kotobukiya continues to churn out new kits (HMM Liger Zero on the horizon!)... I just feel distant, separated from the fandom... Looking back on all the good, busy times this forum has seen only leads me further into this mentality.
I don't think I'll ever truly leave; I don't plan on selling off any of my collection, and I'm just as interested as I ever was... ...but my main interests have shifted. Normal Zoid kits... I'm done with them. I recently got a Rebirth Century Heldigunner, and with that and Shadow Fox, the stuff I REALLY wanted, I have.
And with how poor Rebirth Century fared, several kits I REALLY wanted never seeing proper release, I've pretty much given up on getting new kits that aren't HMMs.
I'll probably continue to poke in whenever I find news, to see if anyone else has posted it, but beyond that... I dunno. We'll see.
Anyone that needs to get in touch with me for whatever reason can drop me an IM:

Though I may not know you that well, and though I am fairly new to zoids (Watched NC0 when it came in America, but only got back into zoids in 2009) I would like to say, zoid fan to zoid fan, farewell for now. And, hopefully in the future, there will be reason for you and many others, new and old, to find greater interest in zoids once again.

Well, it's a proven fact that I suck at quitting things. I doubt I'll actually manage to leave...
(...hm, I never thought I'd be leaving a thread like this, after seeing so many...)

Going into lurking mode is normal for a lot of fans. I think TT needs to do another anime series to invoke life back into zoids.

Being a lurker is fine. Like you said, having an interest is different than fandom. I like to see if there is anything new coming up, and I like to see contests and creative works of art, but I'm hardly a fan. I know nothing of the shows (never seen an episode) and don't follow the Battle Story, but I do like to dabble on kits. I, too, was very hopeful when RC came out, but I guess TT had to release hundreds of non-Transformers in all sorts of scales and with kitchy gadgets, so Zoids faded into the shadows. I'll still drop in to see what's new and what's interesting, but I'm kinda up there with you. Enjoy lurking! Drop in once in a while if something strikes you as interesting, or if you pop out a custom sometime.

Going into lurking mode is normal for a lot of fans. I think TT needs to do another anime series to invoke life back into zoids. It's not just that. There's no line outside of Japan, and even its limited to expensive kits meant only for serious modellers. Back in the day, we could head into any old store and stock up on reasonably priced, fun to assemble kits. So many of us have had to move to other interests, and there are fewer new members all the time. I myself have more or less faded from the main line of this forum, spending more and more time on TF forums. We'll miss you, Xehn, but we're not without understanding.

I think the fact that Zoids are now... well, basically a more expensive, smaller, slower-to-release line aimed at older collectors may be what's kept me into them, oddly enough. My money has gone from being tossed pretty much exclusively at Zoids, to divided between... uh... a whole lot of lines ( as this image may demonstrate), so not having to worry about new zoids being released every month means I get to enjoy the ones I do get even more... I've got a restocking of Naomi's Sniper, and HMM Zero on preorder. I do want to grab the Lightning Saix, too, and I've got a friend hanging onto a Saber Tiger for me... not that it looks like I'll have money to grab it from him soon. September is a painful month for me; two full Busou Shinki sets, Revoltech Genobreaker... I think last night I was feeling rather apathetic. I don't really have it in me to up and abandon a forum whose subject I care so much about...

Also: HMM Gun Sniper Naomi Special is the greatest Koto kit ever made. I have but one gripe, and that is the lack of face on the Naomi Flugel figure.

uh... I don't have bills, beyond paying for gas for my car. That kinda helps. Technically, I haven't dropped any cash on them yet. Don't gotta pay for preorders until they're ready to ship. ...which is going to be painful. Blade Liger was $30 to ship by himself. Genobreaker is even heavier (though I suspect the box will be the same size), and full Shinki tend to be half a kg on their own. ...and I think there was something else added to that month. *looks* ..ah, no, that was November, with Zero and Naomi's Gunsniper.
heh, you got original Arnval... heh. $40 retail. They've gotten more expensive since then. I think the last full set that had a standard retail release was, like, $70+. @_x not that I paid that for her. Amiami + preorder = less dead wallet than elsewhere.
(you might as well consider the Gunsniper LS preordered, as well... must have all HMM raptor variants. DX )
