But I would be if not for blood donors, so consider this a public service announcement combined with why-Tilly's-been-scarce-and-will-be-for-a-while. If you can donate blood (ironically, I can't—I weigh too little!), go out and do it. It will keep people from dying on the table mid-surgery because they started bleeding internally, along with other awesome things.
As to why I needed blood, it's a long story and on my journal. Typing on this netbook is a nightmare of ergonomics, so the really short version: my reproductive system, quite literally, tried to kill me!

Oh god! So sorry to hear of your terrible situation, Tilly I am glad to hear you are okay...wishing you a speedy and full recovery. I definitely need to be better about getting out to the blood drives. Thanks for the reminder though, we never know just who we might be helping!

Best wishes for you to make a speedy recovery, hon.
I need to get back on the blood drive bandwagon, too.

Wow. Just finished reading your journal, and it sucks that you wont have the opportunity for little ones down the road, whether you wanted that or not. That said, I hope you have a speedy recovery because your Zoids will miss you! We are still here pullin for ya!

When I lived in NZ I was not allowed to donate blood from the mid 90s, after mad cow disease hysteria drove the blood bank people to refuse all bloos from people who had spent more than 6 months in the UK between 1980 and 198x-ish.
Luckily, the UK does not have such a restriction (they'd be pretty screwed if they did!)

Jesus, Tilly. That's pretty rare. I had a bone marrow transplant a buncha years ago, and I know how valuable blood donors are. They saved me from extinction for 7 years.
Oh, I'm not dead either. God it's been too long since I last logged on here. And now Tilly's ill. WTF has the world come down to?!
