Question on entry photos; do you want a maximum of 5 straight images, or will combined or "digital art" images be included? Most contests we have seen in the past few years allow collage images to show different details, etc, so long as the individual shots are not retouched, and have allowed a single digitally retouched image so long as the editing is obvious (like my signature "action shot").
Thanks for putting on the contest, Colodie!

Where did you get the 5 images from?
Anyhow, for each model entry, you can submit up to 3 640 x 800 images. If you want to edit multiple pictures in one, that's fine but the end result can't be larger than 640 x 800.
As for editing, just cropping and minor adjustments such as light please.

Thanks, Colodie. Sorry for the assumption on number of images (just came off of ZP, so I guess 5 images stuck in my brain)

Do Gravity Zoids count as motorized? (I ask since I also have a wee bloxy sitting on the side as well)

I'd put them in the same category as windups.

So once we send you the pictures, we're not allowed to upload them in any forums or public gallery until after the contest deadline, right? Yeah, we've gone with that in the past. I might nix that for the next contest..., but for this contest, wait until they are revealed at the end of the contest. May I suggest, if possible, that we should be allowed to upload our entries on a forum or eslsewhere ONLY after the results (not even here) ? Then, you could show the entries, here, without the name of the darther, no ? To have an anonimous contest. That was just an idea. Lionel

That's fine by me but it also bears a question; in the past eight or so contests I've entered it has been allowable to enter with photos, stats/story, and a link to an image gallery featuring the entry. Whether or not a gallery link can be included is a huge influence on which photos are uploaded, so the question is, can we publish additional images of our entries in personal sites or Flicker/Photobucket accounts after the deadline? This way all entries are in and voters may choose to take in more views to make their decisions. When your photography sucks as much as mine does, it helps to have more than a dozen images available just to see what the custom is.

To my mind, to give a fait equality to everybody, I was more in the idea that only the photos sent for the contest would have been shown, without the name of the person who did it. Because it is not everybody that can make a beautiful page with a good story for his creation. That's why I was thinking, everybody, with 3 photos, and nothing else before the results.

I find that level of secrecy unnecessarily complex, and a bit pointless in such a small community - where most of us can probably guess who has made what. It also takes away one of the most fun parts for me - discussing entrants' work with them. As for the extra photo issue, I'm not really bothered either way. I intend to vote based on the quality of the work, as viewable in the official photos, and I hope everybody else will do the same! That said, I do enjoy seeing any extra content people come up with. For instance, a couple of years ago I entered a (badly disabled) remote-controlled zoid, and I wanted to share a dodgy video of it failing to move very well. It would have been a shame to have had to wait several weeks before being allowed to share that. Perhaps a compromise, where entrants are asked not post any further pictures/videos/etc until two days after the official pics go up? That emphasises the officialness of the official photos, but still allows maximum enjoyment

Lionel has a valid point, I agree. I suppose, as long as we can use multiple photos in a single image, that should be enough.
One thing that has impacted me in the past, though, was that I did not give a fair vote to an entry because the pictures really couldn't show all the minor details and effort that went into the build. I've had people send me emails and messages saying that they were greatly influenced by the build photos, not just a pretty website. I would feel awful if I underestimated someone's work again. Really, just because someone can't make a snazzy website shouldn't detract from a photobucket page that demonstrates serious model building skills.
I don't mind names being left out, either. In fact, I don't think I've been in a contest that posts the names of the darthers.

I'll have very limited internet May 21st through the 24th, so voting may be pushed back a few days.

Contest ends May 20th at Midnight, EST Left this question rather late... Can I assume that this is the friendlier interpretation of 'midnight on the 20th' - ie midnight between the 20th and the 21st?

I remember we had a discuss about that some years ago. In France, 20th midnight is when the 20th begins. Well, that doesn't matter, that is giving more time.
