From Ngee Khiong's blog: It appears Takara Tomy will be adding Zoids to their ever-expanding Revoltech line. ngeekhiong.blogspot.com/2009/09/revoltech-zoids-others-under.htmlThat do indeed appear to be a Bladey in the corner there. Yep. (Insert wild and geeky celebration here.) I'm always glad to see Zoids surviving as characters. I do believe they've made their mark. ;D

For the uneducated such as myself, could someone elaborate a bit on what these would be exactly?
thank you.

Is it... is it just a custom Zoid for events?
I don't know. : <

Word is that Revoltech is picking up the line for some amount of distribution... like when Tomy licensed the line to Hasbro. So, we could see the exact same scenario; a re-release (different colors and box art) of what we've already seen and a few new items, like the Gravity line. Either way, could be interesting.

To the uninformed, an explanation. Revoltech is a *huge* action figure line, created by Kaiyodo, utilizing a type of joint that allows interchangeability between figures.
Previous figures in the line have been a number of Valkyries, all the forms of Gurren Lagann, several of the Getters, all of the Evangelions, even a few humanoids, like the girls from Queen's Blade (Google at own risk), Rei and Asuka from Evangelion, many of the girls from the thing Haruhi Suzumiya is from, etc.
Oh, they did Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, and Hot Rod, too.
So, what you can expect are figures somewhat smaller than the KFM zoids, retailing somewhere from $20 to $30 each, with insane articulation featuring ratcheting joints.

In other words, DO WANT. I'm not a huge posable things fan, but gimme action figures I can actually mess around with and I can have fun. This sounds promising!

Revoltech is so great! it's unfortunate how it sounds.. like.. revolting.. because is revolutionarily awesome! and it's gonna give the ol' franchise a nice shot in the arm, too

"Revoltech" stands for "Revolver Technology", referring to the standard joints they use. :3

Probably don't want, Revoltech are cool, but small and expensive, and it losts the magic of building...

Good news. I have a feeling these guys will be small, maybe the size of the Hasbro action figures, but much more detailed, and with killer articulation. Hopefully, they don't have that killer price. Looking forward to these.

I like the idea of Revoltech Zoids. They'd be detailed, small (requiring less shelf space), poseable and less fragile than model Zoids. (Models are nice, but they don't like being dropped).
Also, Kaiyodo may start off with the (relatively) smaller Zoids, but they may eventually move onto the larger ones. I mean, when the first HMM Shield Liger came out, did anyone predict that we'd get a HMM Iron Kong?
Revoltech figures are actually toys which we can explain away to visitors as being display pieces. That reminds me - imagine the display possibilities if the Revoltech Zoids come with stands. A leaping Blade Liger should look awesome.
