Does anyone know how to make tentacles for zoids? The kind of tentalces that would be on an octopus or squid? I have the parts I am using for the body. I don't want to cut, glue, or paint anything until I know what to use for the tentacles. I don't want to mess up the body so that the tentacles won't attach well. If it helps, most of the body is made of a gustav shell. Thank you for any ideas.

Some people have gotten decent results from wire with those screw-mount things lined up along them.

I think taking some hollow cylinders and putting wires in the center is a decent way to go,.. I was thinking taking a simple pen and slicing it up, but if your main body is a gustav shell then you'd probably want to go with those little thread spools.. if it was a nautilus, pens would be fine, but octopodes have bigger ones.. actually threadspools might be able to use blox joints... .. for that matter a ton of blox would become a good tentacle..

Thanks for the ideas, I knew I would use wire, but I didn't know what to put on it. I think that I am making an Octopus/Jellyfish and Hermit Crab fuzor with coral on the back.

With a Jellyfish, bare, white-coated wire would work best. But you'd need *lots* for it to look right.

I was going to make 8 large octupus tentacles and lots of thin jellyfish ones. They would all be about the same length. A holotech gustav would be good for making jellyfish.

Should it be a Republic or Empire zoid, or which Empire? What should I use for the tips of the tentacles. I was thinking of using spikes from my gunbluster for the tips of the tentacles. Would tentacles look good with spikes on the end? Also, I was thinking of naming the zoid Tempest. I mind do a series of customs that get their names form Shakespeare. The crab that fuses with the shell and the tentacles come out. The crab becomes the mouth. I have already finished the crab, It didn't take long, most of the parts came from a cannon spider.

well ideally you'd use something cone shaped that started out the same diameter as what you used for the segments of the tentacles, if any. If you used slices of pen, you might wanna use the end of the pen as the tentacle-tip. Saw off the end and it could have a laser inside or something... or you could put a little lego spear in the tip? If it's like a squid's tentacles, they have a bigger oval shape at the end to get a good grip.. then again almost anything can look good at the end, some jellyfish have a few longer leaflike tentacles.. the ones in zelda were even biramous

There could be different kinds of tentacles. Some could be lasers, some could be spears, and some could be for grabbing. Those are some good ideas, thanks.

What kind of wire would be good for this? I have the cylinders to put on it, they are butt splices. I am about to paint the shell. I am going to use a dark red for it. The crab/spider will have more than one color of paint on it because it won't be covered in coral. For the coral I am using torn sponges.

Hehehehehehehhee, butt splice Aren't those a little thin? I'm not sure you could run a wire through the middle of those, but I'm not 100% sure what they are aside from a quick google image search. In any case I'd suggest going to a craft store or something and looking for some good flexible plastic-coated wire...

Yeah but I'm still having trouble understanding how large they are and how narrow a tunnel goes through them
