I recently noticed that the Zoids DVDs in America have gone out of print, and panicked. I decided I wanted to buy up all the ones I don't have quickly, but ran into some trouble.
It seems many of them are already vastly overpriced on Amazon. Other websites offer them cheaper, but they are questionable.
The DVDs I'm looking for are
Chaotic Century 7-8, and possibly 11, since I'm afraid Best Buy might tell me I'm never getting it, like they did when i ordered the Eva movies.
And New Century Zero 2-6.
I hope to find each for less than 25$. Does anyone know a safe store?

Not sure if Ebay is your cup of tea or not, but... Just listedProbably your best chance for the NCO series. As for Volumes 7-8 of CC, finding those for a non-ridiculous price is gonna be tough. Don't know why those two are so scarce, the others don't seem to be

I don't usually use ebay, but this looks like a good opportunity. If the bidding doesn't sky-rocket, I'll try to get this, thanks very much!
If I can get all the other volumes reasonably, perhaps I can afford to pay extra for those 7-8... but I'll try to see if there's a way around that first.
EDIT: Got outbid... almost a relief since I got caught up in the heat and accidently bid more than I was really ready to pay. *sigh* Any good non-ebay places?

Okay, back months later, I ended up buying those New Century Zero DVDs after all. Complete series now! Woot!
But I still don't have those 3 volumes of Chaotic Century. Looking again, the prices were hard to swallow before, but now they're downright offensive! How'd it change so much so quickly, the DVDs aren't even that old! God I hate being a fan of unpopular things... What on Earth am I going to do?

Just keep an eye out for them, and have some patience. I ran into similar problems when I went looking for the Chaotic Century soundtracks. I eventually tracked the first two down (one on some Japanese website, the second on Amazon), and after months of searching the third one finally showed up for sale (seriously overpriced at over $100, but I wanted the thing like crazy so who cares).
Anyway, you might find them for cheap(er) if you hold out long enough, but if I wanted those DVDs as badly as you do I'd probably just cave in and pay for them.
At least you don't want #5. Have you seen its starting price on Amazon??

I guess there's no chance in getting viz to release a box set of some sort... I'd re-buy everything if it was bi-lingual, but I guess I'm stuck... still, I can't afford, nor can I envision buying 6 episodes for 90 dollars... T_T (Looks at vol. 5 on Amazon) WOAH! *quits Zoids fandom and sells copy* JK I still can't part with it. After all, isn't that the one with "My sister's getting married today!" ? Darn, I can't believe this series dropped off the radar so hard...

Sorry for double post, but at least it's some activity, right? I seem to drift on here whenever I have time to contemplate the collections I haven't completed.
So I drifted onto ebay and somehow ended up paying 40.66 dollars for volume 8... yeah, I might get yelled at by my parents, but at least now I can counter with "I'm 19"
Still I feel a bit nervous having payed that much, and my dad will probably yell at me for having used ebay at all... Curse you Zoids, for making me act so irresponsibly out of passion!
God I hope nothing happens to that DVD in transit.

Darn, I can't believe this series dropped off the radar so hard... Yeah I was totally surprised when Toonami just dropped it after Giant Robot Week; I would've loved to see another run. Oh well. I have to ask, though: what prevented you from buying the DVDs when they were first released?

Media Play had both series as they were coming out on the shelf at $13.99 EA, which was about one release every month. I cringed when I bought each one thinking to myself, Gawd I'll probably be able to buy the whole set for $35 in a year...
Thank Gawd I convinced myself that it was okay to be stupid back then.....
But then again, you haven't tried to find Fuzors yet.... Good luck with that one.
I've yet to find it...

Did Fuzors even get a US release?

Nope. Aussie (and New Zealand?) only. The quality is blocky and the NTSC -> PAL conversion botched D:.

I have to ask, though: what prevented you from buying the DVDs when they were first released? Nothing other than perceived lack of urgency on the matter. Damn... anyway, I'm watching some things on ebay... cross your toes! I have to remember to check every day. Maybe I can make a profit by buying and reselling extra copies, mwahaha... but it's doubtful.

You'd think they'd be a whole lot better than "blocky", especially considering that you have to pay for the discs...and the Australian Chaotic Century DVDs I ordered were actually really good quality.
