Squinting at those small pics I see what appears to be the gears sprue. You might very well get to build the gear box after all. It's been a couple of years since I built my EP so I don't really recall the particulars very well, I ought to go dig up the instruction booklet and compare...
*sighs* that Patriot Horse is mighty fine looking...

I just got it and the shiny parts are silver instead of gold. Good thing I know how to fix that (clear yellow paint should do the trick- the opposite of stripping gold parts of a clear yellow coating to make them silver, right?). Anyway, you build the gear box. It was fun.

Clear yellow paint would indeed do the trick, though I've never tried it over chrome. P'raps a highlighter...

Are they silver "we didn't even bother with gold" silver, or silvery-gold "we undersprayed" silver? Either way, I like silver chrome more. And HOORAY NOT PREBUILT.

Yeah, putting those gears together was trickysauce.. Snowflake had to take the box apart because it was clicking @_@ flash was interfering..
I think it's basically 'we didn't try' silver but kind of platinum if you look at it right.
One interesting thing to note, I think the wings were meant to flip down to the sides at one point in the design, because they're held on via a peg and have a notch to clear the javelins (when folded back)... and the armor is all designed around that peg as if it rotates.. but it doesn't
... hey did anyone notice the box art has awesome grilles on the shoulder/hip armor that do not exist in the kit?

I was very pleased to find out they rotate back. I never tried that on my Evil Peggy.. though I was little.. and it stopped working pretty quickly and got disassembled by.. uh.. Murphy..
