Those who frequent the ZE forum have probably seen these already. . All of them are viewable at s8.photobucket.com/albums/a19/FanofFurrets/Public/. (TL,DR warning) Let's see... My first plush Zoid was Rayse Tiger (obviously). Why plushies? Well, I didn't have the skills or resources to make elaborate customs (except some paint jobs *glances over at Murasame Liger*) and I've always been a big fan of plushies so it just came naturally to me. I was a newbie to sewing at the time so my earlier patterns are simpler than my later ones. Also, I didn't have a hot glue gun yet so yes, I sewn on teeny strips of fabric for Rayse and Brastle and did an absurd (to me) number of stitches on Dekalt Dragon and Gildragon.
After Rayse and Brastle I made Energy Liger. I like this one because of all the detail and the wire-tubes (nowadays I would use pipe cleaners). To make those I wrapped black yarn around the wires. It took forever! Next came Dekalt. I liked the wing design of the original so much that I didn't change them much. This one was even more detailed than E. Liger! I think I made Ptero Rayse next. I painted the edges of the wings with glow in the dark paint and designed it so you can stick the wings on Rayse Tiger (I gotta get around to taking a picture of that...). Look closely and you can see that I made a mouth for it. It's just hard to see because of its color. Same with Brastle.
At some point in time I made a Storch and Gildragon. Storch is nothing really remarkable. I do have some things to say about Gildragon. Yes, I actually prefer the Genesis horns (I call them big fluffy eyebrows, BFE for short). It's also filled with polybeads as opposed to the usual polyfil, so it's a beanie. Before/after those (I forget), I made Murasame Liger. Since I really like Sam Liger I worked really hard on this one. This was also when I discovered the wonderful hot glue gun. I'm really love the sword. It's made of stiff felt and a little wire and you can pose it however you like. After that I took a break for a while.
After an unknown amount of time (once again, my memory fails me), I made Rayse Tiger II. I also began experimenting with new plush-making techniques. Unlike Rayse I, Rayse II glows in the dark (I recently obtained a camera that can take pics of it so I'll upload it soon). I have to retake pictures of him because the ones I have now simply don't do him justice. After that, I made Gunblaster (Gunbluster for those who insist on the Tomy spelling). I waited until I got got good enough at sewing before I attempted sewing my favorite Zoid (Rayse is a veeeeeery close second). Yeah, so guns -> spikes. The spikes are made of stiff felt covered in fleece, so he's pointy looking but really quite soft and hug-able.
I looked at my King Gojulas (It was a gift and I heart it very much. It pwns Gojulas Giga in every way) and noticed the way it looks like it's trying to hug you as its cannons spin, killing those who hug it back. I had made a pattern for it before but I decided to completely remake it. He's actually the same size as the real King G. My next plushie was Molga. I was inspired by the cookie-eating Molga meme and had the right colors so... yeah. Cute Zoids make cute plushies ^_^.
Next I think I made Gairyuki. Because there are a lot of theropod Zoids out there, I made a generic pattern that I can alter to make similar Zoids. Case in point, I later made a red Dark Spiner (now that's even less dark) based off of it. Uh, I'm pretty sure I made Shadow Fox next. I loosely based it off a wolf pattern I saw on Deviantart. Okay it's really nothing like it. Now that I think of it... I probably mixed up the order of of Shadow Fox and Gary. w/e.
I noticed that most of my plushies were blue (or had a lot of blue on them) after that. I also wanted to make a Pteras, which was blue So, I made a Rado instead. His head was fun to design. I wanted to keep the shape similar to the model, but a little more chibi. The wings were also fun. I counted the number of small spikes on Pteras' wings and made the wing fingers on plush Rado correspond to that (similar to Gildy's saw -> number of fingers. I counted the number of blades visible at one time and... yeah). After that was Neptune. He was really an experiment to see how I could make plushies with open mouths. His expression makes me laugh.
At the time of this message, my latest plush is a teddy bear version of Hard Bear (The blue curse strikes again!). Not much to say about this one except that I noticed the model Hard Bear looked kind of upset (I guess it's because not many people like neoblox *likes neoblox a lot*) so I gave plush Hard Bear a cute little frown. like Gary, I also made a pattern that I could modify easily. I did this because I plan to make a Bear Fighter and Bamburian (with "bamboo" in a backpack) once I get the right colors of fleece.
Uh... I think that's it (that must be the longest post I've ever made o_0. Ignore the typos). Photobucket's being annoying and not letting me log in to post thumbnails/ fix broken links so bear with me a bit. Anyways... any questions?
