Oh, like you didn't know I'd buy this: The new Celica Lucraft SRDX. I find this new packaging to be a wonderful Idea, as it gives more room for artwork or story or such. Oddly enough, this is the only bit of art on the fancy new box, the other sides being pictures of the statue itself The figure herself is nicely packaged, laying in a plastic tray with a molded cover and a plastic sleeve: (I'm not really sure why this one is smaller than the others) Once unpacked and unwrapped(she's bound up in saran wrap), you're treated with a very nicely done Celica statue: img.photobucket.com/albums/v164/adamassc/DSCF0791.jpg(photobucket's being an @$$, so this picture is sideways. Now many of the sites that offer her for sale show her undressed. While this can be done still I have opted not to photograph her as such. I paersonally don't have any issues with it since she's covered as much as women on television shows, but I'm sure someone would be offended. This is Celica's base. Its nice, since there's no pole or clip to interfere with the aesthetics, instead that rod slides into her boot. I'm curious if all future SRDX figures will be this way, since this Celica feels like a sturdier material than the other one. Overall, if you love Celica(me), women in mini-skirts(me again), girls in their skivvies(still me), or you have a thing for brunettes(see a pattern yet?) Pick her up. You won't be dissapointed.

Hmmm - so Celica gets her own thread. No bias - eh !
Must confess I'm not remotely tempted to get any of these figures, Zoids or otherwise. Not really my thing. But Celica has to be one of the best designs in the SRDX range.

One of the very best Zoids figures to see production, IMO. Why does she have to be so pricy though, dammit! So, enjoy her, while I retire back to my hole to murmur against you, adamassc

I still dig posability over show-accuracy and smooth limbs, but this looks nice I respect the packaging, there's nothing better to put on it than pictures of the figure, if it's not in a plastic bubble where you can view it better

(she's bound up in saran wrap) LIKE ROY ORBISON.On-topic: the castoff thing is kinda bleh, but this definitely has one of the best SRDX sculpts otherwise. Her boobs are inflated compared to the drawn artwork, but the proportions aren't so balloons on stick as to look silly...and hey, a more interesting pose than "I am standing like a robot"!

I do agree that she's one of the better zoid SR sculpts, that I've seen at least. I didn't even noticed the boobjob until you pointed it out, Lady Tilly. When I first heard of this release, I just had to get one, no matter the cost. The cost, btw, ended up being 56.99 with a healthy 20 shipping. She's still fairly available too for others interested. I also love the happy hopping pose she has over the "I'm so awesome" poses of the other SRDX figures. She doesn't look arrogant, or robotic, or all"ohhh, Colonel!"
I like Kotona too, but she has like 500-1 merchandising on poor Celica here.
And I'll have you know, colonel zed, that Celica only got her own thread because I felt that it was too important to wait until Sunday to review such a quality figure, plus she isn't technically a zoid.
Yeah, thats it. totally the reason. Yup, completely it. Has nothing at all to do with the inability of my subconscious to fully recognize the dividing line between reality and fantasy and thereby allowing me to experience honest emotions towards a fictional character. I mean, what would give you that idea?

The sculpt is quite good, and I'm not at all into the figures. I am, however, into sculptures. And I feel I have a healthy appreciation for the human form, and certainly for the female variety. Ironically, this figure looks far better proportioned without the clothes... the plastic lends a lot of bulk to the figure. I like the face on this figure better than the anime on the packaging.
And, yeah... Kotona is a beautiful sculpt.

On the other side, there are a few things that seem..., cheap. Like the stocking on her right leg. It just fades away blockily. Kinda like "Hey, you can't see it until you buy it, so it doesn't need to be finished."
The salute also kinda makes me laugh, but that's another thing.

I just got mine. Pretty sweet. I have seen Japanese bikini shots (on other people's compy's, I SWEAR! ;D) where the bikinis had clear plastic (silicone?) straps, basically invisible at a distance. I just assumed her I-can-barely-call-it-an-outfit was the same thing.
Maybe Celica has a swimming hole near work. Who knows.

Eh, when it comes to anime clothing, bikinis especially, I apply the same logic used here:
