Once again, I find myself bored enough to write not just one review, but many! Instead of taking up half the forum, I'll just make one mega-thread out of it. There should be something for everyone here. I'll sart with some small windups. And of course, my picture taking skills have not improved and the focusing is off on many pictures, and I had to abuse the flash since half the lightbulbs in my room burnt out. Bear with me, people.
Godos is a cool little guy, with two configurations. I chose the one that utilized the extra pilot, but unfortnatley the extra guy always falls off when you wind it up. In addition, one of Godos's feet is extremely easy to fall out, not always, but usually when I lift him into the air it will fall out. I don't know why, exactly. Regardless, Godos is pretty sweet.
Guysack is another zoid with two configurations, and again i chose the one that that used both pilots. His walking motion is weird and akward, but it works at trying to emulate a real scorpion, and unlike Godos, the extra pilot has no problem staying on.
Out of all my windups, I probabaly love Gator the most. He's the smallest zoid I own, but his walking motion is awesome and he can walk quite a long distance at that. And although underarmed, the gattling gun is quite cool and as a plus Gator's stickers fit him well.
Now we've gotten to the bigger guys. Simply put, Red Horn is fricken awesome. Not much of a challenge to build, but his walking motion is sweet as he stomps along with guns spinning. But like Elephander, he seems to be a bit on the shrimpy side. Don't get me wrong, Red Horn could eat the windups for breakfast, but he seems rather small next to the Shieldy, and I preferrred the anime version where Red Horn looked like he could tear a new one on ligers. Oh wel. Also comes iwth three pilots including a tailgunner, which is great.
Behold my second favorite zoid, behind only the mighty Elephander. I've got him in a variety of poses hear, revealing his true head and cockpit, and also preparing to fire the CPC. One of the longer zoids when his tail is extended, but even when it's up this guy is a beast. He's got very realistic and awesome walking motion, claws snapping shut as he runs along. I cannot say one bad thing about this kit.
I went nuts when taking pics with this guy. Gojulas Giga is a beast, there's no way around it. His contruction is long and detailed, it took me three nights to build the model and sticker it, by far the longest any zoid has taken me. He has two modes, pursuit being the one that's not displayed, as I like him better towering over everybody. I've shown some size comparison pics, and nothing even comes close. Godos would get squished as well as the Shield Liger. Giggles makes a great display piece, as he's beautiful and intimidating when properly stickered. The walking motion works, although you're in serious trouble if the legs arent built PERFECTLY because he'll fall flat on his face and lose a leg if not built right when walking. I speak from experience.
And if anybody likes seeing pics of zoids as much as I do, you should like these combat pictures I took.
Godos is about to be, for lack of a better term, destroyed.
One can only imagine what happened in the fight with the Elephander for it to lose its head.
And to wrap things up, anybody else do this with their boxes? I still have yet to cut and put up the gojulas and death stinger boxes, but I think it looks really cool and it saves space.
Hope you guys enjoyed this mega review, all zoids featured are highly recommended and will not disappoint.
