I don't particularly like the blue-white-yellow-caps color scheme. If only the caps were some other color...I dunno. I'm very turned away by the colors. otherwise, he's friggin awesome. Maybe when the Zenewolf comes out, I can switch the caps.

Something I feel a lot of people are forgetting is that HMM Kits are not your average zoid kits. Far more "model kits" than their predecessors, that these would call for touching up of some sort is almost asked for if not expected. In fact it's no big surprise to me that most people who buy HMM kits and are used to normal model kits are doing them up and detailing them whereas the average zoidsfan gripes about the small things. Got a problem with the teeth? Go out, grab some paint and use it. Grab some gundam markers while you're at it or similar tools for panel lining. As a certain admin once said of the zoids fandom, "Give the robots some love". I'm certainly gearing up for it. Gonna be using the smoke canopy, filling in the panel lines, painting over the caps (and these caps are hard plastic as opposed to soft making painting them even easier), probably even painting the barrels of the guns black so as to look more like my OJR Wolfeh. If I had the time and money I'd probably get a second one and make it Mk II colours even.

I've built some 1/100 scale gundam kits before, and I didn't have much trouble with those, but what I've seen of 'master grade' gundams scares me, so I'll be staying away from those. HMM seems like it'd be somewhere in between those two?

HMM seems like it'd be somewhere in between those two? Actually, if my MG Crossbone Gundam is anything to go by, they're not hard to put together in the least. HMMs were more involved, but neither are too difficult.

has anybody but me noticed that if you were to paint the silver parts (including smoke pipe things) gold, apply some ojr helic stickers, and slap on the clear (smokey) canopy, it'd be almost Identical to command wolf MKII?

The bluegrey is nothing like the blue of a Mk.II. It wouldn't be too hard to paint, though...I suspect being close to both new and old was their intent with these colors, as Mystick's said.

Yeah, keeping in mind that I own both OJR Wolves, I'd say that the colour is far closer to the standard OJR Wolf's Blue-grey structure though it's not quite that either.
For what it's worth, I did mention in a conversation with Tilly a few days ago that if one were to spray the structure over a strong blue (0000FF-ish) and then do some parts gold it would very much be a MK II.

Apparently there is a way to "fix" the jaw so it opens wider.. hanegaru.web.infoseek.co.jp/h0review_012.htmIf that doesn't link to the right page, look at the HMM C-wolf page on that site. It's at the bottom. Did you have an extra piece left? It looks like it's part of his armor, but I dunno if i missed something or not. it's quite big actually. I'll try to get a pic of it.

That part's a conundrum. It's used to attach OLD harpoint-attachable bits to the HMM wolf... but I don't see how.
